The joke is PVE mains keep saying this but PVE is stale and boring presently. Raids and GM nightfall's are the only content that's remotely challenging and interesting. If you take them away, what else do we have? Best dlc since Forsaken? That says it all lol. All the -blam!- kisses praising the long grindy story at launch, which i've had to do THREE times. In a nutshell PVP is essential to keep the game alive. I only play PVE to better improve my gear for cruicible and i just accept it and get on with it.

PvP is honestly what is stale and boring about this game, and truthfully, the numbers are not in your favor. Are there a lot of people in the community who like PvP? Sure. But the average player barely touches crucible except when in a stack or for a quest or pinnacles. Crucible is a joke. Hunters stompee shotgunning, using whatever broken flavor of the month, hold w titans using a shotgun, warlocks rift spamming with arc souls, it’s all a broken unfun mess. Why anyone chooses to stay in the playlist longer than 3 matches I’ll never understand. And trials has less engagement than the raid, because the only time trials is fun for average players is when there is a flawless pool (which really should’ve been the case from the start) beyond that it’s an exercise in futility that makes you want to put your head through a wall. Not to mention, the worst season they ever released was Season of the Worthy, a season which focused on PvP over PvE. I truthfully hope that NEVER happens again. This game thrives when bungie is focused on putting out good PvE content, which they have this season, and when they ignore the toxic sweat fest that is PvP.

  • I hear you.... Where's the good PVE content at now though?? I never said PVP was perfect by any means, matter of fact im furious with the lack of investment over the years. PVP needs a massive rework and so does PVE. For a game that is focused primarily on PVE, the content is washed up, repetitive, and easy for the most part. As for PVP, i agree there are too many crutches and abilities that are ruining the experience. Im a solo player mostly and a strong advocate for freelance in all game modes, especially trials. For myself, i enjoy PVP because i feel it offers more of a challege and also varied in the sense that you face different opponent's with different skill sets. Therefore, matches are varied and at times challenging. PVE mains talk about this season like Bungie can do no wrong and so far and it's a JOKE. Gambit is trash, no strike specific loot and very mundane, the seasonal playlists are terrible. Crafting was a good idea, but executed poorly. Why did they stop making fun and rewarding events like Menagerie and D1 Prison Of Elders. Great content that is a distant memory now. Ultimately, this game thrives on the fact that it caters for both PVE and PVP players. Destiny wouldn't be as successful as it is today if they didn't co-exist.

  • Well, dungeons are great for instance. Rerunning the campaign missions, I love it. Having said that I also like going into Crucible despite its flaws.

  • Fair enough, the dungeons are good for loot. Not a fan of repeating story missions.

  • Huh.....?? I think i get what your trying to say lol. Regardless, PVP and PVE are both needed. Without one or the other the game would die period.

  • Definitely, both for PVE and PVP mind. I remember when we had things like Menagerie and Prison of elders. Both of those modes were fun and rewarding to play. We are getting 2 new game modes and rift is coming back within the next three seasons. However, unfortunately we are only getting one new map in that period.
