Forum debacle
So for those of you who don’t know this, I’m gonna put some information out there for you all. This forum was created with the intent to improve the game, gather feedback, and communicate with the players (Bungie employees)
Why then are we all constantly attacking each other for having different views? A simple mature and level headed debate never hurt anyone. I’ve had plenty of those online over my Xbox, this forum, online in general, and in person. I understand that sometimes the things people say can be a bit… ill informed, but that’s still not a justifiable reason to just be rude to them. Correct them on their facts (or respectfully disagree with their opinion), and be on your merrily way. Sometimes I genuinely can’t believe my eyes on some of the things you all say to each other over this forum.
Now onto another point, which I’m sure will absolutely touch a nerve to some people. Stop begging for nerfs after a shortcoming in this game. I’m referring to the people who lose to a Main Ingredient in crucible 4 times in a row, get outplayed by a hunter with good movement with Stomp-EE5 (yes they are everywhere I know) or my personal favorite the “Shotgun handcannon meta” player happens to kill you. Take a deep breath afterwards, then come vent on the forum. Let out all your frustration here but formulate and channel that feeling. Many many times Bungie has quite literally taken complaints/comments on this forum to base it on a nerf/buff in game. I hate to say this, but WE are the reason this game is going downhill. We can’t just expect everything to be given to us.
In conclusion to this post, I want to say this. I am absolutely guilty of doing some of these things myself, but I’m doing my best to work on it. You really have no idea what someone is going through in their real life, so why try and make it harder via comments on the internet? Simple answer is there is no reason to do so, not in my eyes at least. To anyone -blam!- this far, you’re absolutely awesome and I hope you have an incredible weekend.

1 RespuestaProblem is people have very different experiences For me the biggest problem is controller aim assist on pc… people just don’t understand how broken it is… they get very defensive when I ask for small nerf to the recticle stick

6 RespuestasYou know why? Because the "we are listening" phrase is a blatant lie and just a marketing saying. We see a "Bungie replied" tag on a random positive set of posts every 6 months if even and thats about it with the dev to customer communication. The community managers only reply to memes on twitter and reddit. Constructive feedback is rarely read or considered for the future decelopment. If they would engage more with the actual concerns about obvious problems with the game, this forum would be WAY more chill. When you give customers freedom of speech and completely ignore them at the same time, this is the result.

Bungie deliberately sabotaged the base game so they could manipulate the system and player base. Bungie was never really interested in communication, because that would mean they would actually have to act like an actual company instead of a business just looking to make a profit. Being a business you get to ignore the legit feedback and not have a care in the world what actions you take or how it effects anyone. Even with how bad things were with D1 all the way up until ROI. The communication was at least somewhat there. It's when Luke Smith took over that literally everything went to hell.

The weird thing about the debates here to me, is how polarizing it is. I'm told I'm incapable of saying something I dislike about the game, but still liking the game as a whole. I'm incapable of saying I think something is good and viable, but doesn't need a nerf. I've been contrasted as a nostalgic 12 hours a day veteran but also a dumb new light for not having respected old D1 content. [spoiler]It's okay to like Destiny 2 guys. It's really not that big of a deal, it doesn't make me a Bungie dev, it's not some form of stockholm syndrome. I just like how the games turned over time and I'm super interested in its future. It's simply enjoying a game the same way someone out there's enjoying No Mans Sky or Fallout 76. [/spoiler]

7 RespuestasI don’t disagree with you, and I commend the effort, but in the end idealism has no home on the internet. You can ask people to play nice and treat each other with respect, but when it comes down to it they’ll just spit in your face for a few likes because the anonymity has given them the confidence to do so. If it makes you feel any better, people who bully people on the internet more than likely [i]wish[/i] they could in real life as well. They just don’t have the guts. All show, no substance. I’m no different, by the way. I’m just being honest about it. You can’t let it ruffle you up, just do your best to represent yourself the way you want to be known.

Sometimes, you have to hear the message rather than listen to the messenger. You would have to smack a huge population in the face to get them to understand that their words are usually wrong… But the underlining tone can not be ignored. For the amount of money a player has to invest into destiny but they ..*a list Do not get access to content they paid for. Lose access to content they paid for. Have to do things they do not like to get access to content they paid for. Deal with an unstable service while paying for it. Deal with toxicity to play end game content they paid for through rng matchmaking or bad matchmaking. And on and on… These scenarios will pull out the worst in people because they love the core of what the game is but pay and deal with very questionable anti consumer circumstances. You have to understand that in life, warning labels exist because of what people have done… not possibilities before hand though of by a company. The “do not put your hands under a running lawnmower” warning label exists because of the amount of injuries. Some people think simply.. My point… gouging people financially will eventually catch up to a company.. and laws will need to be written Bungie offers a “free to play” access point because they offer micro transactions and, when incorporated, “loot boxes”. Then you have the sense of competition on top of what I listed… This opens up a whole other can of worms that plays on peoples emotions. They cheat, they finically gain and they troll/bully.. The thing about blank faces, they show the truth of what civilization actually is like. Not everyone… but the more mature audience usually makes better decisions and usually makes less noise. You can blame the disease of marketing/commercialism.. ingraining in the world for decades that in order to “fit” in, you need the cool stuff to do so.

11 RespuestasI remember joining this forum thinking that it would be a positive environment for people who enjoy Destiny, it is my first gaming forum btw. Long story short, I realized that the majority of the forum dwellers are a bunch of crybabies begging for everything to get nerfed. Other group is a much of entitled people who expect free flawless for participating. Lastly, the self entitled F2P players thinking that by them leaving will affect the company in any way 😂. Forums are unfortunately full of irrational guardians, if it was up-to me i would have let all classes be pre nerf and let the crybabies drown in sorrow.

I started off being respectful as if I was on a classy forum. It wasn't long before I realized only the loudest and rudest opinions are even read by Bungie. So... That's why.

the reason a lot of people are irritable on this forums is because bungie doesn't use it AT ALL. When people constantly feel like they are being ignored just because they don't use twitter they can get irritated.

Thats just social media in general no one myself included is immune to it and what your asking is next to impossible or if done wouldn't last long. People have different reasons and intentions some you just can't respectfully disagree and most definitely not ignore. The community is divided and thats why the coming together thing isn't realistic unless its out of mutual benefit or the greater good. My opinion but words are just words what people say don't really matter because in my world they barely exist and the same to me in theirs. The nerfs/buffs can't be ignored with how whimsical Bungie can be they are going to do what they believe the community wants and I can't fault them for that so I blame the community and don't care to make the distinction. You are 100% on the we are the reason the game isn't progressing much but thats because of splinters in the community and nobody can control that.
