They need to change it because it is a flawed system designed to burn out players. The reason the power level system wasn’t bad in D1 was because players had the world drops, specific loot, purchasable vendor rewards and a gunsmith that allowed them to chase foundry weapons. They neutered the system to try to appease to a casual audience and the system hasn’t changed to fit the ones who grind this game even a dry spell state. I am saying that have the tools currently in game but they never tried to change it to fit the narrative for the playerbase. Let’s take Nightfall versus DOE system approach. Both system are dictated by grind. Each has a different narrative on how rewards are structured. One has bounties implemented to grant players a multitude of rewards within a box. You can also purchase rewards from one of the vendors and there are world drops that happen from a chest at the end of the content. The box you earn from the chest has the possibility of keys dropping from it and those keys allow you to earn even more rewards at a chest near the vendor. Everything can be govern by both the player and the RNG system combined. The other is dictated by a difficulty and leveling system which are both used to determine what kind of rewards you are chance to receive. There are no bounties nor any additional ways to achieve the loot inside the activity. There is also no vendor that grants access to that loot. Everything is extremely RNG based. This is why Black Armory despite having a somewhat bad design as well was better than the NF in almost every way. There was a bounty system that allowed players to dictate what they are chasing and the rewards at the end of the activity was granted as well. It may not have been on the level of DOE but at least you had a better chance than what the NF as a whole provides. Bounties are only looked at negativity because of how they are structured. If you put actual rewards inside the actual bounties, players will grind them but if there is nothing but XP or Bright Dust in them, the only real purpose will be for power leveling or the Eververse which in term are 2 systems that need overhauls or removals.

I didn't said, that it shouldn't be changed, but it isn't a big deal, you don't really need a max gear power for basically everything, then GM's are available everyone have at least a 1 max light character, leveling is just boring, but I don't really bother, the only downside for me that we need to grind old activities to get some powerful gear

That’s why I feel power leveling as a whole isn’t needed. It creates a boring atmosphere for players and it helps instill burn out in players which leads to frustration. If Bungie really analyze what Destiny has to offer from the lowest end of content to the highest, they will realize there is a lot of unused content that can be redesign to change a better grind for players but their priority is hinder by the sense of making money versus making content that last which would grant them more money. Players are playing this game during a dry spell which says a lot about this genre.

power leveling is in every single mmo out there

I don’t care what Bungie posts. Bungie can call this game COD and you would eat it up and believe it. This is a looter shooter regardless of what you believe. Plus you said it, the “route” they are taking it which means they aren’t there yet hence the game still being a looter shooter.
