Hey my friend who has had beyond light for the last year randomly had it disappear from his purchases and its telling him to repurchase it on the xbox store, what should he do?

Hey there. If they were playing it on Xbox previously and recently lost access, they were likely accessing it through GamePass. Beyond light was removed from GamePass in December. If they definitely purchased it on Xbox (ie were not accessing through GamePass or playing previously on, say PlayStation or PC), they’ll have to restore their license and if not restored, work with Microsoft to access beyond light: https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360049196071-Accessing-and-Restoring-Licenses-to-Destiny-Content

Bungie are the manufacturer and not the retailer so they have no power over them. [i]Also Note: Destiny 2: Beyond Light was removed from the Xbox game pass on December 8th, if your friend had it through there then he will not longer have access to it and will need to buy the game from the store.[/i]
