The red war and forsaken should be the free to play content in this free to play game.
If we REALLY need the space, delete Shaw Han and the cosmodrome.
New players need an entry point, and if it’s Shadowkeep, we can expect the wash out rate of new players to increase dramatically.

Exactly. I doubt anyone would miss Shaw Han, and the Cosmodrome is just a rehashed D1 location anyway. Also, various characters in the game make references to Cayde-6, the Fanatic, Sagira, Ghaul, and Calus. New players will have little to no idea who those people are, especially after Forsaken is vaulted. I can't really recommend Destiny to people who haven't played it before because they'll start the game unaware of over half the story.

I edited my first post to say just that. I would recommend D1 before D2, because at least D1’s story is in tact. For $15 you can get hundreds of hours of content from D1, that still has its integrity, and that $15 will buy you content that doesn’t have an expiration date measured in years, but decades.
