“what flawless has done to the game mode”? I’m sorry, I honestly find the sentiment a little perplexing since the game mode was designed around the goal of going flawless from its inception. That goal being something not every one or every team may be able to do.
Up until this season the mode was far more restrictive and “hardcore”. Three losses (four with a passage of mercy) and you had to get a new passage, no matter what. You only got rewards for 3, 5, and 7 wins, with one bounty that sometimes could be easily grinded over multiple passages that would earn you another roll of the 3 win reward. Most people didn’t even get to 5 wins before their passage was locked due to losses. Until this season Trials felt impossible for me to get any rewards and loot from. I only played it when I needed to for armor glows.
It’s not like the mode was similar to Iron Banner where wins don’t really matter, and then they added the carrot of 7-flawless wins for better loot.
I come at this differently than some. I feel thankful for being included and allowed to get lots of loot for simply participating. I don’t mind that flawless is there for others to shoot for. Being able to solo queue doesn’t suddenly make this game mode mine, where I expect to be catered to. I look at it like the mode is still primarily for teams trying to flawless.

The flawless is the reason for all the toxicity.

I won’t disagree with you. But it is inherent to the game mode, and has been since its inception. It’s not like Bungie added a flawless 7-win carrot to Quick Play or any other established mode. If they added it to Iron Banner, Quick Play, and maybe even Glory Ranked Survival, I’d be right there with you saying it needs to be removed.
