Editado por GANTZ: 11/1/2021 11:32:32 AMby that logic , why would anyone watch p*rn ? :D
-
This actually has me wondering… does it actually follow that logic? Is there just something I’m missing in how people enjoy watching people play games? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
-
-
I watch while at work on break.
I watch while at work on break.
👍🏻
-
I watch at work a lot on pvp for weapons reviews, tips for better plays, etc.... Not that hard to understand why
-
A reasonable answer
-
Why pay for a football to toss around and go and watch football?
I’m in the same boat as you about streamers
You're literally giving them free money to stay home and play games.
-
I hear ya. I personally dont get it either. However, I would equate it to, why would people watch sports as devils advocate.
-
That’s a fair point. Entertainment seems to be the prevailing answer and I can understand that.
-
Why spend money on a game and sit in a corner and watch for someone to run by.
Why spend money on a game and sit in a corner and watch for someone to run by.
Read the rest of the thread. I’ve explained it
-
Why watch sports when you can play them. Why watch a cooking show when you can just cook. Why watch a nature documentary when you can just go outside.
-
Those are all fair points but not exactly what I meant. Some folks have answered because they enjoy it and some have answered because of the streamers personalities. I simply wanted to know why? I don’t see the appeal but (as I’ve said already) to each his/her own. Are you easily triggered?
-
Honestly all of his previous points in that first reply were pretty calmly pointed out. Dunno why your first response was "Are you triggered?"
-
I asked because he’s asking questions that have nothing to do with what I asked. The whole “why don’t you play sports instead of watching it” is old. I’ve explained my view many times in this thread but I’ll do it one more time. Anyone can be a streamer….anyone. Buy some hardware, get some software….boom, you’re a steamer. It doesn’t mean you’ll be popular but you can can do it. Not everyone can be a pro athlete. You can’t just walk onto a professional sports field and start playing with a pro team. Try and walk onto the field with the Braves or Dodgers and see how that goes. As some have said in this thread, some people see both as entertaining, and that’s a good point, but comparing streamers to pro athletes is ridiculous. Streamers aren’t for me but I get that some people like to watch them.
-
You can't walk into an esports environment and play with a pro team either. Nor can you just start streaming on twitch and expect to be getting large streamer amounts of views. You have to be entertaining and consistent to keep viewers. It also helps that a lot of pro gamers are streamers, so you can watch a lot of high level gameplay. I suck at smash brothers, but I understand the combos and inputs required from streamers who play them and I really enjoy that level of gameplay compared to my own.
Everything he asked had to do with what you said. Just because you answered it elsewhere doesn't mean it has nothing to do with the discussion.
-
We aren’t talking about esports arenas and I already said just because you stream doesn’t mean you’ll be successful. Do you even read what I wrote? 🤦🏻♂️
-
Your reasoning to combat why people watch sports instead of doing it themselves was "You can't start and immediately join a pro team" as if you could with video games. While competition is only a part of spectating gaming, it still holds pretty accurately to your comparison. I could try practicing any sport in my free time the way you suggested streaming, I just won't be good at it. My question is why it's different for gaming.
-
Its just a form of entertainment. Just like I said, why watch sports when you can play them. Its just entertainment.
-
It’s not the same thing but the fact that it’s entertainment for folks to watch is the same. Anyone can play a video game, a very tiny fraction of the population can play pro sports.

Editado por RingersCheckmate: 11/1/2021 7:59:37 AMNot everyone has the hardware to play any or every game, but a phone or low grade computer can stream any content creators game. Similarly to how not everyone can play a sport. You act like every sport spectator is watching for purely the top level when sometimes people just watch their hometowns team because they're attached to them, like how people watch a content creator get stomped in a public match because they like the content creator.

Editado por V: 10/31/2021 8:52:48 PMIt is the same thing. At the end of the day "pro" sports is just sports. Watching a streamer play video games is just video games. Its just entertainment. Its not that hard too understand. When I watch streamers play I honestly just watch for the reactions they make. Like watching streamers play Darksouls is hilarious because I'm genuinely good at the game and watching people who barely touch the souls games fail and rage at every encounter is funny and entertaining. Its just an entertainment preference. If you used the olympics as an example then maybe you'd have a point but pro sports is just sports. Nothing special, no special events nothing. Just the same sport everyone else plays but theres commercials.
