The following comment I found from a old post, I think pretty accurately sums up what's going on.
in a game so reliant on movement they have a jump that is basically vertical icarus dash on crack with 0 cooldown on every subclass, the dodge breaks aim assist allowing for a free reset of a losing gunfight or being able to close a solid chunk of the gap with a shotgun
This was annoying yet manageable pre stasis but revenant dials it up to 11, they get 2 slow shurikens that are more or less guaranteed to hit and totally -blam!- up any counterplay to the hunter mobility for 5 seconds, they get shatterdive so even if someone catches them mid hop they can hit the deck pronto, their reset dodge also slows anyone close by, and let's not even go there with -blam!- Bakris
The ability to "reset" an engagement at any time is insanely powerful.
And to add hunters are the only class that play into their "class role"
Titans aren't tanky.
And warlocks don't do extra space magic
This is primarily a take from console, as I don't play on pc.
What does everyone think?

Editado por Geordie P: 10/12/2021 9:30:00 AMThere's a lot of comments about how many hunter mains there are and I feel that they aren't thinking outside the box when they look at the numbers. Let me take you back to when you first loaded up Destiny and went to the creation screen without prior knowledge of whats on offer powers wise your first choice was the character description then - HOW THE CHARACTER LOOKED. This is probably the most important choice for many people... Titans looked like chunky Spartans - been there done that *yawn* Warlocks looked like all their robes were oversized hand-me-downs from older siblings. ..and then there were hunters, without a doubt the best looking class in the game esp. the females. I myself created three females because I thought males looked terrible. Male characters look like they're about to shuffle their dumpy azzes to a pie eating contest... Before dinner. If you people want less hunters then petition Bungo for better looking Titans and Warlocks. -wait didn't they do something like this for warcraft? Anyone remember that?

8 Respuestas
they have a jump that is basically vertical icarus dash on crack with 0 cooldown on every subclass,
Greatly exaggerated.
the dodge breaks aim assist allowing for a free reset of a losing gunfight
If you dodge mid gunfight your basically dead. And if you can’t kill someone that can’t shoot back that’s on you.
they get 2 slow shurikens that are more or less guaranteed to hit and totally -blam!- up any counterplay
If I hit you with 2 Shurikens at full health I will still have to punch you a further 2 times to kill you making them next to irrelevant.
they get shatterdive
It’s strong but so what? It’s not like Titans or Warlocks don’t have anything that OHK’s.
let's not even go there with -blam!- Bakris
If someone comes at you with Bakris just jump out of there. It’s so easy to counter.
hunters are the only class that play into their "class role"
No the real problem is most people play Titans and Warlocks like they are on a Hunter then complain that the jump isn’t as good or blar blar blar.
Hunter mobility is a major advantage in pvp.
....And? Lol, honestly though. Dont get mad at Hunters for working as intended and leaning into their class role (High mobility) If anything, be mad that Titans aren't tanky, and Warlocks dont do extra space magic. That would be a valid complaint. But instead, you want what? To neuter the one class that actually does kind of do what it was supposed to?? Thats a bizarre train of thought. March in the streets for Titans to be more tanky and play into their roll. Same with Warlocks and cool space magic. Not like, HOW DARE THESE HUNTERS DO WHAT THEYRE SUPPOSED TO!? Also, side note, I understand that you really didnt take that hard a stance on it lol, I guess Im just using this post to address the droves of people that do go hard on this point.

The only annoying thing about hunters is the vertical movement and how hard it is to track on console Titans can reset an engagement as can warlocks it just takes more effort. Play smarter up your sensitivity or just play hunter
-
3 RespuestasLet's take away Titan exotics that provide added effects like lightning, over shields, and ricochet. Let's take away Warlock ability potency and rifts that let you have over shield or one shot body. And air dash. Let's get rid of arc buddy flinch. Lol... See. Sounds ridiculous. Both a Warlock and Titan with proper movement can move just as quickly if not exceed a Hunters movement, stompees or no. Especially if there aren't low hanging ceilings.

Warlocks are still faster even with a nerfed class lol
-
Literally every class’s ability to disengage plays directly into their class fantasy. The hunter disengages by dodging behind cover or jumping out of line of sight. (Uses mobility and cover to disengage) The warlock disengages by placing a rift that regenerates health and applies various buffs before Re-engaging. (Uses Recovery, space magic, and cover to disengage) The titan disengages by placing a barricade that all but one-hit kills anyone who passes through it. (Uses resilience to CREATE cover, even where there is none, and disengage) As far as shatterdive goes: if there was a Venn Diagram showing people complaining about shatterdive vs people who shotgun ape, the diagram would nearly be a circle. “Damn he triple jumped and wasted his grenade before I could shove this Felwinters down his throat. Shatterdive is busted.” Lol

1 RespuestaIn destiny 1, all three guardians had a advantage in one area. Hunters was mobility. Warlock recovery and titan resilience. Since destiny 2, Hunters are the only ones to keep the advantage , they know it as well because they futher put there mobility stat to 100 which means they could out run tracking even on a direct shot. One of the many reasons 2/3 of the players are Hunters. People will always use the most broken things. Hunter mains will dispute all this gaurenteed

1 RespuestaThe fact that their jump is faster than realistic vertical sensitivity settings is just crazy. That’s one of the factors that contributes to glacierdive combo being so oppressive.
-
2 RespuestasLook up, it works for me.

On controller, a stompee jumps a lot harder to react to, but otherwise I find shooting hunters down pretty simple. In air accuracy even with icarus mods are not the most consistent as your own shots aiming at them, and also jumping resets your ADS meaning you get extra time on the in air hunter. I'm not saying it isn't annoying, but I also only find it a problem in the closest of range engagements

Editado por Bhulk, Disciple of Fitness: 10/11/2021 9:22:53 PMConsidering that this take was made before the shuriken nerfs. It’s fair to say they are pretty avoidable now. But I agree with everything else. It’s not even like there no counterplay, there is. The dodge is supposed to be melee’d but half the time I punch it I just whiff it over they damn head. That point about the whole class archetype or purpose thing is pretty true. Except Warlocks do have some extra whacky goody space magic stuff.
-
Hunters have had the same jump since destiny 1 year 1. Are you a new light?

2 RespuestasHunters Mains: "wArLocKs aNd TiTaNz R fAsTeR" -Yet using that "slow" Hunter nonstop - 0-100 insta vert is SOOO SLOW

4 RespuestasIf they Nerf the Stomp-EE5 it'll even the playing field. The Nerf should be Jump and Sprint. At the same time, Nerf the Warlock Boots that Reload on Sprint. Those the be drawn in to Balance out with Dun's speed. Those boots should add the same benefits across all, forcing High mobility players to invest more into Mobility. The Lion boots for Titan need a Buff to match with Sky camping Warlocks. And if they refuse to touch those boots, then just bring back TG. I'm sick and tired of being 1 shot by a Hunter 50 feet in the air with 100% HSA with Felwinter, and Shatter Dived 50 feet in the air. NERF THE JUMP!!!!!
-
Correct, except for the guarenteed-hit accusations for the shurikens. Stasis was an effort to curb movement without buffing the TTK of primaries. The problem is that the ability of Warlocks and Titans to use stasis that way has largely been broken. But, as usual, Hunter abilities have largely been left intact for the last year. While Penumbral Blast got nerfed before it could get out of the starting gate….
-
I’m sick of these Bungie paywalls. It’s literally pay 2 win. If you don’t buy the Hunter expansion you don’t get to use a the Hunter class. It’s outrageous and should be more inclusive!!! Oh wait… no one is stoping you being a Hunter except your self!! My bad.
-
1 RespuestaJust now realizing this? It’s the most played for a reason…

2 RespuestasI feel the same way, but I'm often suppressed because I'm a Titan-main. If one could place each class of equal skill level in a vacuum with their base abilities (including tertiary abilities), devoid of perks, exotics, supers, etc.; I posit that Hunters would win virtually 100% of the time simply thanks to their jump and dodge. Their jump gains verticality quicker than the other classes and is middling to highest in lateral speed, it's also untelegraphed and unpredictable; it's the only jump I've been able to use to reliably dodge Fusion Rifle volleys, Silence and Squall, and most notably the Glacier-Shatterdive combo. Exotics like Stompees only exacerbate this effect. Dodge allows Hunters to basically reset any fight whilst breaking aim-assist (if you're on controller), magnetism, and any tracking projectiles. I've often survived a Wardcliff Coil volley by simply dodging. Likewise, dodge provides an excellent opportunity to reposition to cover and escape, much like a "get-out-of-jail-free card". All possible every eleven seconds minimum. And like the jump, is exacerbated by a number of exotics like Wormhusk Crown, Bakris, Gemini Jester, Sixth Coyote, Dragon's Shadow, etc. Obviously, the other classes aren't without their share of questionable gimmicks and quirks, but stripping those away, the class with the most versatile mobility will remain on top.

5 RespuestasEditado por Asylum: 10/11/2021 1:28:20 AM🙄 boy yall love to hate on something just because yall get out played...sad. Why dont we just level every character then? Remove mobility, resil, and recov and make everyone exactly the same? Would that stop the crybabying? Probably not cause then yalled start with cosmetics... "hunters stuff looks better plz nerf" Just learn how to play and counter 🤷♂️ if you cant do that maybe a game that has verticality isnt for you. And before people go digging through my profile crying because i now main a hunter. Its because i got bored of PvE giving me no challange because locks and titans are stupid easy to build on which basically makes them invincible in PvE. Stop crying and learn team play and tactics or just stay in PvE, and thats coming from someone who avoids crucible like the plague cause its the worst PvP ive ever seen. And im also on PC so if what peoppe say about hunters is actually true, i should be a god among gods, but my stats will easily prove otherwise.

So d2 year 1 got it

2 RespuestasHunter is the easiest to use is PvP because it’s the most OP for the reasons you just explained (and many, many more).
-
while hunters have more pinpoint control warlocks and titans are faster at moving. I cant count the number of times I two tap a warlock and he flies half way across the map with Icarus dash they need to revert the go fast update to all classes. another thing Ive never seen addressed is that sliding and aiming essentially grants snapshot to all weapons. regardless of class you shouldn't be able to slide 6 feet in a open lane then immediately slide 6 feet back to cover. there needs to be a cool down for this
-
1 RespuestaHunters are the strongest class in pvp, no doubt. they're entire stick is based around running and gunning solo. But you're wrong about titans and warlocks, their class abilities can not only change the flow of engagement they can lockdown areas. In competitive pvp where running & gunning is out matched by team play, I can name plenty of streamers who'll say titans & warlocks are even BETTER than hunters.

5 RespuestasLiterally both other classes are faster
