Giving up for another 6 months. Weasel.

For about the last two weeks I've been averaging 12 weasel errors per 3-4 hours play. Yes yes yes I've tried everything bungie and the forums and everyone else has said to do about it. It's not an issue on my end, and it is not only happening to me. I've been tearing my hair out trying to grind up to maybe be able to LFG my first ever raid, but I've come to realise nothing is going to be done about this and my time would be better spent smoking crack in a burning car. I wouldn't get through first encounter without being booted from the game. One day this week it took me ELEVEN runs of Shattered Realm to actually be able to reach the end without being booted with a Weasel. I tried a few times to actually explore and check out the cool new environment, but I ended up having to speed run it in about 8 minutes to actually get the finish. I'm done. It's been a fun couple weeks giving Destiny another chance, when I've actually been able to play the game. Hit me up about 3 weeks after witch queen drops and then becomes free on game pass immediately after release. I know this is just whinging and won't solve anything, I just feel it needs to be said in the community that there are people who are trying desperately to enjoy the game, but are turned away by it's striking and consistent game-breaking failures.

  • So sounds like you've tried a lot of stuff but honestly the Weasle error is a "your problem" thing, I know it doesn't happen with other games but Destiny is special. Like blue-bus, licking windows kinda special. It needs a persistent connection to the account servers as well as everyone else you might be playing with. This means even micro-disconnections (which everyone gets to a degree) can cause problems. So, I have some suggestions which might help, or at least move you in the right direction. Call your ISP, tell them you get disconnected a lot and demand tests. Hopefully they'll find something, are the cables from your home to pylons or underground? Run your own tests, and I'm not talking Speedtest, try to find a long term, thorough network testing program you can put on your PC and run over a period of time (couple hours at least) to get a better idea of what the problem is. That info might help your ISP if they don't find anything. And finally, I see you have Xbox and Steam linked, which do you play on most? Do you get Weasled on both? If its only Xbox then one last question: do you have an Xbox One S? Good luck, hope it gets sorted.

        • Wired or 100% wifi connection, open nat via static ip and dmz mode, optimal dns servers (8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4), decent internet speed (at least 25/3, via qos if necessary). *Port forward instead of dmz if on pc Does this match your setup?
