So I know that account recoveries are a violation and can get the account banned, but I am unclear as to how widely this is applied. A friend of mine is on vacation, and he asked me to log into his account to go pick up something from Xur, and I wanted to test out his god-roll Suraya's Wrath to see if it was something worth grinding for.
These situations don't seem to me to violate the spirit of the account recovery ban, which is to deter the buying and selling of titles and loot, but I don't want to get either of us banned.
Does anyone have a clear answer?

1 RespuestaAllo there, As per Bungie's new security blog post, you or your friend won't be banned but it's certainly frowned upon as account details should never be shared and as such is not recommended to do what you intend. https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/News/50560
Not recommended, but won’t get you banned: Sometimes I let my kid grind Lost Sectors. I asked my cousin’s friend to recover my account to check Xur because I was stuck at a wedding in a remote area with no internet access. My roommates and I all share an account on the common room’s console. I let my friend borrow my account to try out a weapon roll.
1 RespuestaBy logging into your friend's account he has broken the TOS of his platform. Any platform or account even non-gaming when you sign the TOS you are signing that you will abide by those terms. Giving out your account information is breaking those terms. NEVER EVER give your account details to anyone even your lovely sweet gran.
