I love how anywhere I go on this form, all I see is this toxic community insulting people because of their OPINION on a FOURM made for OPINIONS. I could completely understand if it was more of an argument, but what I see 90% the time is someone saying it’d cool to have the OPTION for a red highlight on enemies in pvp. Followed by some tang slayer coming in and telling them they suck at the game even going to check all their stats, when they simply made an OPINION. D2 saw the community for this game drop like a sack of potatoes and that kinda toxicity makes new people say nah that game is cheeks I always get made fun of.

1 RespuestaBecause I’m better than everyone else here with my infinite wisdom and unsurpassed skill. And I am really handsome, I know this because my mom says so.

1 RespuestaHonestly, I’ve seen worse and ever more toxic communities than this. I’ve also seen better communities, of course.

14 RespuestasBecause this place attracts people with a negative attitude towards the game. Plus you have a lot of people who no longer play the game, yet hang around to troll and pot-stir.

Fun fact: opinions can be stupid.

I think the main reason for this is that the odd thing on here gets suggested by someone with 3 hours of gameplay and makes the game less enjoyable for many people with 100’s of hours. I’m not suggesting it’s valid, or good that people have that much time played. Just my guess as to why people don’t want every gun nerfed and every gamemode changed.

3 RespuestasIts a FTP game. Not any different in Warframe, where people download it purely for region chat. They never play. From experience, Destiny attracts @ssholes while Warframe gets all the weebs and furries. I just ignore it.

1 RespuestaTwo part answer. 1- that’s just how people are today. Ego, selfish, and insecure. 2- Bungie has played into for much of destiny. Top against bottom,. Hardcore vs casual. Gud vs got gud. The game has set the example. Add these 2 together and you have what we got. A bunch of -blam!-. And some really cool people doing great things, just not loud enough to be heard.

1 RespuestaThese forums don’t reflect the community as a whole. In fact, these forums are arguably the most toxic of all the places the destiny community exist, including Twitter which says something. I would give r/destinythegame and r/destiny2 a try on Reddit.

3 RespuestasDon’t be fooled into thinking one online forum represents the community as a whole. A certain type of player even visits the forums, let alone does so to be toxic. It’s a very small minority here all hoarded together so it appears more influential then it really is.

1 RespuestaThe game attracts all kinds of players. It has a bit of everything. It’s like it tries to be everything to everyone. As a result it has kind of a “Jack of all trades, master of none” thing going on, and people want it to shift heavily in one direction or another, but it can’t be everything to everyone. This breeds toxicity.
