Borderlands had one good game - 2.
The first was still finding its feet, and everything after is just a boring game.
Tales was tight, though.

…I think I might be in the minority that thought Pre-Sequel was pretty okay. Might’ve been because both gameplay and story felt…different. Experimental.
-
I liked Pre-Sequel for what I could play of it. Thought the oxygen mechanic was fun, and I like ice stuffs. I just didn’t like the classes much. Which isn’t too big a surprise, because I don’t really like the classes much in 1 or 2 either. Except Gaige. ANARCHY FOREVAAAH!
-
I also loved it, the characters were a lot more fun than most of the others too. Nisha was a blast just going nuts with some full auto shotgun pistols melting everything in sight
-
Which one was the lady who could make people sign contracts? I liked signing my friends into contracts and bossing them around! ^-^
-
Aurelia. Hadn’t had a chance to play her yet, but she looked fun as hell.
-
I don’t remember any of her other skills besides being able to sign other players into contracts, but that’s okay because that’s all I needed. It was the longest I’ve been able to play as anyone besides Gaige. :p The only issue was I usually play solo, and, well, you can’t sign other players into contracts and boss them around when there aren’t any other players.
-
I’m almost always a solo player too. No mic and all (unless you count the Kinect mic. Which can pick up sounds of literally everything in my room and is overall horrible.), so I can relate. :)
-
Duh, lmao. I think I enjoyed my Nisha and Athena runs the most. Though the sheer chaos with running Claptrap was almost as fun, I’d say.

I like BL3. They just didn’t get the endgame and loot system right.
I like BL3. They just didn’t get the endgame and loot system right.
They just lack character now I feel. Jack came back by popular demand in TPS and he felt too shoehorned. Then in 3 nobody was memorable from npcs to class variety. And now B&B is just another borrowed idea. They aren't terrible games, but they're definite sale buys for me now.

I think expectations and franchise fatigue are a factor. I found the Twins to be very funny characters, and the story pretty insightful satire. Holding up an unflattering mirror to social media and streamer culture.
I think expectations and franchise fatigue are a factor.
It also largely probably has to do with me. I'm just not into that gameplay loop anymore. Getting told to do something, following the line to the thing, then doing it. Surrounded by bits of exposition or cutscenes.
