Because nova warp was the strongest of the 2.
You could do something about spectral blades.
Nova warp was litteraly killing you trough walls and floors and one shoting you as a super XD

Editado por Caxy Creations: 9/15/2021 10:16:12 AMDid you miss the part where it was nerfed TWELVE TIMES to the point of near-uselessness, while Spectral absolutely dominated everything and got nerfed TWICE, from godtier to slightly below top tier? Kills through walls? Fix your walls and that won't happen. Don't nerf the super to compensate for shitty collision. One shotting supers? You mean like how Gold Gun, Spectral Blades R2, all Striker supers, midtree sunbreaker, and most warlock supers all 1hko every single warlock super? Gee, how broken...
-
Top and bottom tree Striker does not one shot other supers.
-
God, I need to stop going for hyperbole. Y'all never get it. No, they can't 1hko, but a titan with any amount of brain cells can kill you in 2 button presses. Not quite a 1hko, but close enough to exaggerate to it without it being unreasonable to do so.

Editado por Meow Fairy: 9/15/2021 10:24:33 AMIts not because you say it got nerfed 12 times that its true. So no need of using capslock on "twelve" And while nova warp super remained kinda destroyed for a long time. The rest of the subclass was still strong enough to still be one of the most used subclass during forsaken because of handheld nova and the great melee. My god i will never forget the sight of handheld + lord of wolves warlocks in comp XD. Also spectral blade was dominant in pvp for a longtime sure. But it also was their only competitive pvp roaming super (or super in general) Because its fun to tali about how those poor warlocks got nerfed. But lets talk about what happened at the exact same time to a hunter super that is still dead to this days. Blade barrage. -became inconsistent -the delay made it even easier to dodge/bug -damage got nerfed A LOT -galanors regen got nerfed like 3 times (It doesnt even work on atheon anymore) -you can -blam!- -the rest of the subclass was never usefull anywhere. They basically killed this super durong forsaken and never brought it back XD. Using it is basically a joke and a 100% chances of losing your super duels now x) (Striker super doesnt one shot warlocks supers and if you get killed by a striker titan while flying, the issue is coming from you) And golden gun doesnt last long enough for you to care about it. Just hide 5seconds and you will win everytime as yours last way longer (or just dont use a midrange super at long range XD)
-
First off let's talk about something you're ignoring. Warlocks have had 3 decent PvP supers this entire time: top tree nova bomb, top tree dawn, mid tree storm. Nova loses to dawn every single time because it's easy as hell to run from nova bomb, and if you're dying to that it's either because the lock surprised you or you're bad. mid tree storm only ever beat out ttd in super duels, the neutral games can't compare because ttd neutral game outclasses midtree storm by a mile. So 3 decent supers, with one being the absolute clear-cut best. Now let's look at Hunter. Golden Gun is a 1hko on anyone you hit, except some supers, and all you have to do is not suck at aiming, and not pop at a stupid time. It's a good roaming super for literally anyone that can hit bodyshots. Blade Barrage isn't bad, you are. Get in their face, and pop. Jump around a corner, and pop as you're coming around it. It's a surprise super, a shutdown super. It's not like Golden Gun where you can pop, show up, then use it, or Spectral where you can pop, go invis, and cheap your way to kills. It's a surprise attack against non-supers and a trump card against roaming supers. So use it like one, and you'll never have issues. Now let's talk about viable subclasses, shall we? Golden Gun, Blade Barrage, Spectral Blades, tether, and arcstaff. Yes, there are clear betters here. But none of them are unviable, none of them are bad. Golden Gun rewards accuracy. If you're not having success with it, that is 100% user error. It's a good super, even without damage reduction. Blade Barrage is a surprise super. If you're not having success with it, you're telegraphing way too hard that you're about to pop, or you're popping while already being fired at. That's also user error. Spectral Blades was absolutely busted for the longest time. So much extra duration and damage resist for being invisible, the highest in the game in fact, as a Hunter, the mid-ground between squishy and tanky, was out-tanking TITAN, THE TANK CLASS, by just going invis in super. On top of that, the melee speed gets exponentially faster the more you swing, so even bad hitreg doesn't matter because you're swinging so often that the only way to not kill your target is to just not pay attention to where they are. It's a fantastic super, even still, despite the nerfs. tether is very rough in crucible, I will admit that. It takes a bit to actually tether a player, and it's incredibly obvious when one is around, but that's the end of its flaws. If you direct hit, it'll kill them and suppress anyone in the aoe, and with spam you can direct hit multiple targets. Not that it justifies it being bad at the job it was MEANT to do, but I'm saying there's a very easy way to make it good, on top of its already decent neutral game. Arcstaff isn't perfect either, but whirlwind can even deflect a nova bomb, and that's ridiculous. It can deflect nearly anything, and while the neutral game isn't fantastic, it isn't BAD either. It's just worse than other hunter options. Warlocks have 3 good subclass tree options. Hunters have nothing BUT good subclass options. While Warlocks have to spend MONTHS practicing and training with a bad subclass to make it worth using in PvP, Hunters can spend a couple weeks getting used to a worse subclass tree and then they can find equal success to the good trees. And lastly, I'll admit something I got wrong. Nova Warp wasn't nerfed 12 times, it was nerfed 7 times after release, and an 8th nerf came with Beyond Light. Still though, that many nerfs of that size made it nearly useless.
-
Its not because you say blade barrae...golden gun etc...is good that its the case. If its so damn strong. How can you explain the VERY low usage of thise 2 subclasses XD
-
The fact that revenant exists. That's how. Revenant is so far and above better than everything else Hunters have that it renders everything else obsolete. It's not a matter of "X is bad, so X gets used less, while Y is good so Y gets used more." It's a matter of "While X is good, Y is so much better that nobody uses X because Y exists." It's like having the option between a supercar and the ability to run at 500mph for hours without getting tired. Why would you ever take the supercar when you could have literal super speed? Does that mean the supercar is bad? No, it just means that of the two, it's the lesser option. Golden gun and blade barrage are fine. They just don't get used as much because Revenant exists.
-
Yes revenant is a thing since forsaken for sure
-
Literally never said it was. Know what is though? Spectral Blades, which used to be the most broken super in the game. So pre-Revenant, solar was underused and underappreciated because Spectral existed and why would you ever use anything else?
-
Because wtf use them when you can shatter dive cheese all day long?
-
When you didnt had shatterdive players were still not using solar hunter. Basically no advantage over other subclass. And bb is inconsistent AF even when you land knives players manage to survive
-
Not if you land more than 1 or 2. I seriously think you might just be bad at using solar hunter.
-
Yeah definitely is about skill when you land knives on a super and they do not register because of the delayed explosions and speed of the super. Hell i even had times where i had blades all over my screen meaning i was 100% dead. But nah, i end up taking barely any damage XD. But yes lets say i am truly bad if you want, everybody should use the most inconsisten super / easiest cast super to dodge/counter on top of beign an overall bad subclass since x3 knives arent great. As for golden gun, yes its great for quickplay where you can farm dumb dumbs with basically anything. But in comp/trials if you start using golden gun you are most of the time at a disadvantage since ennemies just have to hide for a few seconds. Still works, its really hard to miss a GG shot. But compared to what other sub classes offers in both super and gameplay, solar hunters are basically naked
-
All I'm hearing is "I don't know when to pop blade barrage and I'm too slow to figure out when to use the throwing knives!", excuses, and more of the same "X isn't top tier so it's garbage" that every hunter main spouts.
-
And why am i even arguing with a guy who do not even play the class he is talking about XD. Seriously if you wanna give your opinion on a gameplay... play the class more than 24h cumulated XD.
-
The question is why are you looking at my time instead of my reasoning?
-
Because after reading your weird reasoning i questionned myself "dis he played hunter more than once in his life" ? XD. And basically you probably used golden gun 3 or 4 times in pvp and blade barrage in mayhem only i suppose. Anyways the talk is over there is no ppint in sharing opinions when you cant have an objective one. To be objective you need to play all 3 classes
-
I have been objective. Better options don't make something bad. A million dollars is worse than a billion, but a million is still good. You're the one looking at it subjectively. You aren't any good with solar hunter, and it has always been ignored by most hunters in favor of Spectral and Revenant, which leads to skewed and unreliable opinions based on statistics that don't account for the sheer power gap between those and solar.
-
All i read is "i dont know how to read" As i said. Knives are LANDING on people. But not killing them XD.
-
Clearly not.
