All the ground you made up with these awesome trials improvements are going to get sour for the solo community really fast.
Taking 2 other randoms against full teams is not fun no matter how good the loot is.
EDIT: Freelance is not about going flawless. Sure it's possible but it's not likely done solo. However, winning in order to get loot after your 7 wins IS what freelance is about. Winning as a solo player against stacks is unlikely, and encourages people to lobby hop anyway, which leads to an even more unhealthy environment.
If it's not fun, you're not going to attract solo players to the mode for any longer than it takes to get the loot they are chasing.
That healthy trials population you're after is going to dwindle very fast, and then splitting the population won't mean -blam!-. You'll be right back to trials sucking again in a month.
Make the game mode a healthy place to engage, and its population will grow in both freelance and teams.
-
Not gonna happen.
-
Man if you're a solo player sit this one out until freelance see the light of day, if at all, right now it's ugly and painful not worth the stress for some trials engrams. 👍

1 RespuestaRead the TWAB buddy. Argue the data doesn’t show trials took a step in the right direction.
-
1 RespuestaYou do realise that labs are one off weekend testing. They won't implement a permanent freelance que till witch Queen at the earliest. Next weekend is trials capture zone, freelance next month then something else in December. Don't get excited just yet.
-
4 RespuestasPretty sure cutting the population in halves wont be good for its health
-
4 Respuestas1st off you’re wrong it’s not about wing matches it’s about winning rounds 2nd just say you want easy loot without trying already
-
This is the same community that threw a fit about SBMM, of course they don't want freelance. They cry about anything that might put a stop to their hunger for potential easy prey.
-
15 RespuestasDue to the most recent datto video you will see a pretty common regurgitated opinion that freelance will split the trials population and make it worse. Looking forward to the lab. I hope the result will create 2 different but thriving populations. Although many 3 stacks will dislike the decrease in solo players to stomp.
-
I actually enjoyed queuing solo and made it to 6 wins with no mercy before I lost to a 3 stack twice in a row for game 7 and that was after going flawless too so my SBMM was in full swing. Its not bad plus you get to see what people are useing and how they play.

Just think what will happen to the games if there was freelance. In freelance u may have some games mixed with sweats, but even if they try to cue at the same time, they won't be able to choose what team they are on. Nonetheless, it will probably be good experience whether a win or a loss, aside from those that quit games early. This is of course if matchmaking has an algorithm to balance teams instead of making them lopsided. Reg trials will consist of probably 3 groups: 1. Regular teams 2. Sweaty teams 3. Carries Reg teams will probably just stop playing together and do solos. Sweaty teams will complain that trials is too sweaty from game 1 to game 7. Carries will complain similar to sweaty teams. These complaints will be justified by excuses like the player base will decrease in both modes, but whatever... The streamers that do carries and complain will also have their fan-base agree with them, leading to negative reviews about bungie's game. They may not make the majority of the player-base, but they do have the loudest voices due to their platform. I dont want to be captain obvious here by stating what everyone else knows so heres what I think could be the easiest solution. Solution There should be only one mode, reg trials. However, once or twice in the weekend they should change it to freelance for everyone. The freelance can be a set day or rotate thru the trials weekend every trials. It should not be one weekend reg trials and the next weekend freelance. If teams are the problem for solos and not skill, then keeping everyone in the same lobby shouldn't be a problem. You will have both hard and easy games. For teams and carries, the player base will not drop that much for reg trials. Only adjustments have to be made to work or play with teammates at the appropriate times. If a team mode is more important that trials to some, then there are other modes to keep those teams entertained. Regardless, there will still be complaints, some pointless, others legitimate, but I think this is the quickest fix to play the game and analyse the rise and drop of player base on both modes.

1 RespuestaFreelance? You insane? Do you dare to take away from 3-stacks their cannon fodder? Do you dare to make this videogame more fun? Shame on you, brother. SHAME. ON. YOU.

2 RespuestasBad news - looks like Freelance is gonna just be a one time thing initially in the crucible labs - for Bungie to gather feedback. Full implementation, if it even does happen, probably won’t be for a while after that. Have you thought about reaching out to some solo/duo players while playing and seeing if they want to team up?
-
They really don’t need it, I personally think freelance is the worst because it allows the worst of players to get match made with decent players, and decent players have to carry those .6’s

Hahahahahahahhahah NO

5 RespuestasThere is nothing, I repeat, NOTHING, stopping you from finding a team yourself. Matchmaking in Trials - Use it to find a team. Like the people on your team? Send them a message in game. Group up. Now you have a team. Discord. Clans. Companion App. the100. It has never been easier to find a team. Trials is meant to be a team based end game pvp mode. Freelance would just be Competitive Elimination, and Trials is not just Comp. Use one of the many avenues available to find a team. "I keep matching stacks" doesn't mean anything when you can literally get a 3 stack yourself. There's nothing stopping you. It's a team based competitive mode where communication is huge. Get a team and communicate.

Enter fireteam chat

Yes freelance can't come soon enough. You get people saying it will split the player base which is a poor argument. It needed to be 3v3 pre-made teams before anyway. So there's only one logical reason for people to be against freelance. It's because some premade teams need go up against solos to win.

4 RespuestasI played no trials whatsoever this weekend. A number of group players in our clan went flawless this weekend and I heard how easy it was for them because they were in a group playing against all solo players. Some groups in our clan went flawless 6 times this weekend. Tbh, I don't care how great the loot system is and I believe putting teams against solo players is really poor and unfair.
-
I went flawless twice this weekend through matchmaking with randoms filling the other 2 slots even against 3 stacks. It was difficult and took a few tries but it’s all apart of the learning experience. Trials isn’t control or elimination it’s its own monster. Don’t be afraid to enter game chat and make call outs and communicate with your team. Another thing I noticed is players like to run off on their own. Stick together 9 times out of 10 1 person isn’t gonna smash 3 people. Try different routes. The same route isn’t always gonna work. Don’t call for separation of trials or we are right back to where started.
-
No The worst thing they could do now is separate the trials playerbase
-
Regardless of how fun it could be, I’m sure there are a percentage of players like me that are only in it for the loot. I’m not interested in Flawless in any way shape or form, I already have what I was after except a decent roll The Messenger and once I get that I’m out and not expecting to touch Trials again but I’ll wait and see what the future brings… I actually do hope that it succeeds though.

Editado por A_mo: 9/14/2021 5:58:13 PMAfter playing a couple of more solo matches before reset and realizing there may have been some global connection issues when I was playing on teams this weekend I kind of wish I had played solo a little more so I could have gotten a better idea of whether or not playing solo in the team playlist can at least be a somewhat comfortable experience to play. Not so much from an expecting to go flawless standpoint but more from the standpoint of feeling like you are able to raise your probability of that happening even if you don't expect it to ever happen. And also at least have a consistently decent experience in terms of the movement and shot registration stuff relative to other people in a lobby. Because if freelance is a success and the population is then basically split there's only a few things that can happen after that. Team trials will most likely start to look like old Trials for some group of people and its not going to be the influential group. So its going to have to either be the low skilled players or the nebulous tier and will most likely be a combination of both. The same thing will most likely happen on the freelance side where either its going to have a decent amount of skill determining how much and with what consistency you win or its going to be outright screwing some people over to the point they don't want to play it anymore (not sure if both of those should be considered the same thing). A lot of the flawlesses and relatively easy 7 win cards over the weekend happened in a way that does not really seem sustainable over the long term regardless of whether you split the population or not so even though the loot system in that mode is pretty much the coolest one in the game I don't think they should let themselves become complacent as a result of this weekends all around success. And it was a success. A huge success. It was definitely cool hearing people that had no love or hate or any feelings at all towards PvP talking like they were now PvP players (even if they were going a little overboard with how "good" at the game they supposedly suddenly are now). The only thing that may be a problem is now that those people have had that experience, its a group of people that are going to want that experience or at least something approaching that regularly or they will stop playing. I'm not even talking about people who "hate" PvP I'm talking about people that just don't even think about it at all. Those people are now playing it. So I don't know. Did the addition of freelance really help Survival all that much in the long run? It helped the mode in terms of making it a better mode overall but I'm not so sure its going to automatically be the right answer for trials. I definitely want to try it because I'm a solo player for the most part but all those losses that get people to flawless have to go somewhere.

18 RespuestasI truly feel bad for most of the people on these forums crying for freelance cause all they expect is to get carried by better teammates, once freelance hits your gonna realize that getting flawless is close to impossible with how random its gonna feel. Especially after the first 2 games. Will your win rate improve if your bad at the game in general in freelance trials? probably not because trials requires a strong communicative team that can be hardly cohesive as the bare minimum. You being a weak link will always reflect on your performance anyways, so cry for freelance all you want, you'll still get loot at almost the same rate anyways.

59 RespuestasEditado por Sohsuh: 9/14/2021 4:10:24 PMSplitting the player base will ruin the mode. They just built the population up, so to have it split would be terrible. It is not a solo mode. It's the end game pvp mode. A freelance Trials would just essentially be comp. The matchmaking should be used to find other people to play with. If you like your teammate(s), then message them, add them, and group up. There are so many ways to get together with people and group up. That's what Trials is. Use the avenues available to finding groups. it has never been easier. The thing is right now you're more likely to have people stay in the mode and find groups. A freelance playlist would allow people to just diddle around in there and never even attempt to get a group and join the normal playlist. Splitting the playlist would be horrible.

You’re not understanding what’s going to happen with Freelance. To start off with IT WONT BE PERMANENT. It’s going to be ONE weekend in Crucible Labs. It’s a testing phase. Not full time. Now they might make it full time shortly there after. But it won’t be a weekly thing. As of this moment.
