It's an interesting thing because I even enjoyed the last iteration of trials even though I didn't win that much all the time. However now I can focus more on having a good time and finding things that actually work in a high PVP setting which is frankly what I enjoy doing more in game than anything else whether it's PVE or PVP builds are fun. So far I have gotten to replace one only played a few matches last night due to work but all in all I still had a good time you can go into the solo queue matchmaking and end up with either two sweaty people or two regular shows like you and still have a decent time there was one match last night where I was playing with one of my friends who had never played trials before and he probably got one of the most clutch triple kills ever granted it was with his super but he knocked out the entire enemy team. And frankly for me that is what makes trials fun that's what makes trials great it's not about being the best of the best it's about getting those clutch moments and being able to see those clutch moments when you really need them because that's what really gets your blood pumping and makes you want to play more. I am really enjoying the rework cuz it will allow me to hunt specific armor rolls as well as weapon worlds so far I've gotten a god roll shayura's wrath. I intend to do more when I get home. Great work Bungie this is a great step forward for Trials.
