What you are complaining about is a part of every loot game. It wasn’t part of D1 because Destiny was a broken loot game that was incredibly stingy and unrewarding.
One that tried to compensate by awarding radically overpowered raid and Trials weapons.

Unrewarding? So, do you consider 12 pieces of blue junk loot, after 6 matches of PvP, to be rewarding? Is 9000+ pieces of gunsmith materials rewarding? No, it's not. Not when I know turning in these stupid tokens just means I get to dismantle more sh**. That's all this game is, one big dismantling simulator. Maybe if this archaic outdated game had a decent menu/vault system, with tools, the maintenance process would be less trouble. Instead, this game is almost belligerent with how it wastes your time with BS you don't want to do.
Unrewarding? So, do you consider 12 pieces of blue junk loot, after 6 matches of PvP, to be rewarding?
You do realize that Destiny 1 PVP gave you even less, right?
Is 9000+ pieces of gunsmith materials rewarding?
Not a relevant question. All Loot games have currencies....and when you get to end game and start to perfect your builds, most of what drops for you is going to be unwanted. The issue here is that Bungie focuses (incorrenctly) on making NEW currencies, rather than seeing that old ones remain relevant. IOW, 9000 WSP (or 30K in my own case) are only a problem because Bungie didn't create any relevant USE for them.
That's all this game is, one big dismantling simulator.
That's every loot game. If you have a problem with that, then you're playing the wrong KIND of game.
Maybe if this archaic outdated game had a decent menu/vault system, with tools, the maintenance process would be less trouble. Instead, this game is almost belligerent with how it wastes your time with BS you don't want to do.
Not to be rude...but NONSENSE. The only design problems that this game has are minor at this point. A weapon system that needs to be overhauled because its a relic from the days that it wanted to be an e-sport. A progression system that needs to be overhauled. But probably won't be until the game solves its loot quantity and depth problem. Which is at the end of the day a development bandwidth problem. Which Bungie is performing FAR better at than ANY of its competitors right now. I saw what passed as Crystal Dynamic's "road map" for the rest of the year for Marvel's Avengers? I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. It was both comic and tragic how desperate they were to try to make NOTHING look like something. At the end of hte day, if you're that unhappy, odds are you are playing the wrong kind of game for the experience you want...and that's not on the devs. That's on you to know what it is you want and to gravitate towards those games the can provide that experience.

Know how many times my post office got filled after 2 years of play. Once!!! Just one time did my post office overflow. In Destiny 2, it's almost every other day. Looter/shooter game or not, that is just f**king STUPID.
That's every loot game. If you have a problem with that, then you're playing the wrong KIND of game.
Maybe, but that's never been problem for me with Diablo 3 or The Division. Why, because these games have modern 21st century tools.
Which Bungie is performing FAR better at than ANY of its competitors right now.
That isn't saying much. All their competitors aim low, going for cheaper knock offs of what Bungie provides.
At the end of hte day, if you're that unhappy, odds are you are playing the wrong kind of game for the experience you want...and that's not on the devs. That's on you to know what it is you want and to gravitate towards those games the can provide that experience.
Yup, I am unhappy with this game, which is why I'm dumping it. Something I should have done 3 seasons ago, but Destiny would release just enough things to keep me interested. I thought about cleaning out my vault and post office, but decided not to. Since this amateur designed relic can't provide a mass delete, I'll just leave that stuff out there for good to clog up their outdated servers.

1. Yes. That's called being STINGY....which is poor loot game design. 2. Sure it was. You just didn't notice in Diablo 3 because gear SUNSET...so you discarded stuff. Where as most of what you get in Destiny 2 is useless because I'm still playing with gear that dropped almost 2 years ago. As I keep saying---and none of you want to accept---is that 80-90% of this game's persistent problems are due to the fact that NOTHING ever LEAVES the game. Every piece of armor and every weapon are basically a PERMANENT addition to the game....and games like this can't FUNCTION that way. 3. Actually its saying quite a bit since none of Bungie's competitors can touch them right now. They aren't "aiming low". They are finding out that these games are expensive to make...and expensive to maintain. But its not a passion project for them like it is for Bungie....and they aren't as good as Bungie either. 4. No personal disrespect, but like I said 27 months ago when Bungie announced their "Unification of Vision", that the game was going to change in ways that many players weren't going to like. That the game was no longer going to be one that tried to be everything to everyone. Instead it was going to craft a particular experience....and then go forward wtih the playerbase that enjoyed that experience. They have done a good job of crafting that experience, and refining the game and its evolution around that singular vision. If you are one of the players that is not enjoying it? I'm sorry. Over a million players a day disagree with you, and are willing to back it up with their money and time.

Ahh Kelly, another shoe-horned argument for Sunsetting, while ignoring the irony in his premise… Somehow, the game that breaks the fundamental rule of sunsetting gear, simultaneously, provides the best FUNDAMENTAL experience in the looter space… laughable. It’s fundament core both dooms and exalts itself. You can’t make this -blam!- up.
-
I think you need to read what I actually said. Destiny does not give the best loot experience… and almost all of its problems are because it refuses to follow the rules of the genre. I’ve been saying that for six and a half years.

Editado por Synge_X: 9/19/2021 6:04:50 PMWhat do you think Destiny 2 does right, that makes up for, what you believe is a glaring failure in the genre(lack of sunsetting)?
-
Gameplay. Story. End-game structure Right now Destiny 2 is doing most things right to be the kind of game that they said they wanted to be two years ago. An mmo/action-RPG/ FPS hybrid. An “action-MMO.” The game play is tight and satisfying. The storytelling has evolved considerably and feels more like an MMO instead of a campaign shooter. The loot hierarchy is vastly improved and is striking a good balance between relevancy and incentivizing end-game play. In short they’ve done a good job of removing the shooter aspects of the game and replacing them with more action-RPG elements. The main two problem areas revolve around power management (the lack of sunsetting) and with pvp. Bungie continues to try to hold onto a vision of pvp in this game that is not compatible with where they are going with the pve side of the game. One sandbox can’t serve two masters, but Bungie keeps stubbornly trying. But it isn’t working. Has never worked, and will never work.

Editado por Synge_X: 9/19/2021 6:28:14 PM100% agreed up until the last paragraph. However while I disagree with the premise that sunsetting is a necessity, I do agree that it is a necessity if Bungie continues to churn out the same experience every year. Outside of maybe a few new enemy factions, Most of what I imagine for this game, As far as expanding the type of experiences we could have in this genre, are simply not possible. Not with the lingering issues of the problematic game engine, as well as the arrogance of the Development team(as far as crafting an experience that we want rather than what they feel that we want). The possibilities and potential are endless, the reality however, is likely more in line with what you are proposing(sunsetting). In fact I give them a year, before they go back on their word, and try to pull the same -blam!- they pulled before. And I’m sure that you will be on here at that time defending it.
-
This is why “Unification of Vision” was necessary. Too many people with too many ideas of what the game should be. Bungie needed to pick one and run with it.
-
So what the hell, did you unmute me, or when the system changed over to cross play ,did it glitch out? Lol
-
I think the latter. But I believe in second chances….
-
I’m still going to give you hell when you come up short, but I supported many of your posts while you had me muted. And of course I disagreed as well. Regardless of whether or not you have me muted, you’re all over the place on here, and I find your posts to be very entertaining. I’ll be around.
-
As long as it’s kept to ideas about the game and doesn’t get personal? No problem.
-
I’m not a perfect person, and I’ve crossed that line here and real life. But yes, that is the goal

Which is why I’ve kept saying this game needs to sunset gear. Many of the problems you perceive would be made significantly better by it. But again Bungie stubbornly wants to make up their own rules in some areas.

Editado por OdinsKnight101: 9/20/2021 9:26:30 AMEven with crafting and being able to craft the ''Perfect version'' of said weapon/Or maybe even armour, because they keep adding in more and more permanent additions to the game, vault space will inevitable become an ever increasing issue. Especially for hoarders. On another note, I think it would be nice if they de-coupled kill counts for weapons on an individual level and have them either be recorded as all kills in our collections, or saved onto every other version of the weapon we get.
-
A weapon system that needs to be overhauled
I agree but what do you think it will take the form off?
-
No idea.

Fair enough.
