Had to quit IB
I’m in a team of six, and we kept getting matched against teams that steamrolled us so bad, we can’t even progress on our IB bounties or the IB quest. Thanks Bungie! The tryhards get Trials AND IB. Where’s my place? I’m just food for the gods? Can’t you do some kind of skill based matchmaking? Can’t wait to see all the Reddit troll creepy replies

A strategy you can try that might seem cheesy is wait in your spawn for the enemy to come. Throw down barricades, rifts, and camp hard. You’ll get salty messages for playing in such a cheap way but it’s something. Used this strat in call of duty capture the flag and it was pretty funny when you’re playing against a far better team looking to spawn trap. Dig deep and get ready is the best you can do in some games.

If your team is below average, I definitely recommend going in solo as you'll get a mix of skills on both sides.

If you are in a six stack the game will try to match you with six stacks as well and they can be very sweaty...

How are you in a six stack complaining about sweats? You do know that the main thing people call sweaty in IB is when people 6 stack right? Its not the communities fault you cant win a game while 6 stacking IB

Freelance is better unless your 6 stack is one that does the steamrolling. Although to be fair it’s a bit of a dumpster fire either way where most games would prob end in mercy if there wasn’t 1 unfortunate dude on other team breaking their back carrying the other 5 to keep them slightly out of mercy range. I found it odd first character I did IB on had basically no mercies for or against me then other 2 characters were mercies all over the place so much so I almost took 3 games to get last 3% on ability kills due to losing to a mercy then joining a mercy that was about to happen.

Maybe a fireteam in actually hindering you, try freelance. Just easier imo

Anyway OP to address your post, at the moment there is no SBMM so we're in the old skool CoD position of "Git gud or git rekt". Lordy knows I got my cheeks clapped enough when I was learning the ropes of PvP FPS. Its rough. Of course its rough, especially when it seems like every man and his dog is dropping 40 bombs and mashing whole teams into paste... All you can do is just try your best and focus on what you are getting wrong. Try some different strats, see what works for you. I could run you through my own personal journey if you want. Or not. I'll leave that ball in your court 😂

1 RespuestaIron Banner isn't the killer for me. It's actually the better of the PVP modes because it encourages people out of their comfort zone weapons to a degree and to use various weapons. But, to be blunt. So long as optimum TTK value are below 1.0 seconds or instant-kill on average this type of PVP will never feel good for a large number of players who view this as a Roleplaying game first and a Shooter second. "Dead before you can react" mechanics might seem fun for the habitual PvP player but it's not for dad-gamers like me who are forced into the modes to get desired loot or get a quest completed. (People talk about how easy it is to aim Lorentz Driver but I haven't landed a headshot yet, try completing the exotic quest under those conditions.) I've effectively given up on having any sort of skill development on this game because of the mechanics it exalts, and I just accept the fact that I'm going to ruin whatever team I'm on and focus on going in to get quests. I also hope for that godroll sidearm drop soon so I can stop hurting my teammates with my presence. Caring about PvP isn't worth my time. It's only barely worth investing the time for the loot and quests. So long as they make these inane quests, I'll never be able to develop skill because I'll be so burnt out trying to complete these quests, I won't want to come back with weapons and loadouts that I can actually develop on.

My son and I played IB together yesterday and Friday night. Were there insane stacks? Yes but, few and far between. Got two of our characters quests and bounties done in a couple of hours. I also SUCK at pvp. Maybe your team of 6 isn't good at all and matchmaking hooks you up with other 6 stacks? Idk how that works but, maybe try a lesser stacked team. Worked well for me. Only a suggestion.

1 RespuestaReturn to sbmm. In every LFG it’s a never ending list of “2/2.5/3+ k/d mercy stacks” forming up with the specific intent of continuously mercying people. The game is not meant to be played this way and it literally drives the player base down. Want less and less people to play PvP? Do -blam!- like this. The definition of toxic: “very harmful or unpleasant in a pervasive or insidious way.”

Half my problem is I am too keen to rush in, I know this so I am contributing to the loss. Do you know if your own game style creates issues?

20 Respuestassurvival of the fittest, if you arent good enough, then you are just a stepping stone for the strong, be it in game or in real life, i would suggest getting stronger instead of complaining, cause former is a waste of time
