It’s been a very annoying pattern. Something good comes out or something gets buffed, then 3-6 months later, nerfed. This has happened with every major buff in the game.
Autos, 120s, stasis. Granted these things NEEDED to be nerfed for the sake of the game and PVP, but the fact that the dev team overtuned these weapons and abilities to the point where they NEEDED to be nerfed is really annoying.
It would be nice to have a certain sense of stability when it comes to buffs and new weapons, knowing that they won’t be immediately destroyed a few months down the line just because they’re complained about in PVP.
Vex Mythoclast is a perfect example of this. It’s awesome, now one of the best guns in the game thanks to the recent buff, but people are already complaining about it being too strong in PvP. Who’s fault is that? The devs.
I want to preface this by saying that I think the devs are doing a spectacular job with the games sandbox and have a lot of respect for them, but come on. This has happened WAY too many times. Overbuff/overtuned new thing, overuse and complaints, nerfed. Happens everytime.
Whatever. If Vex really has to be nerfed, just tone down the range by 15% and make it so it needs 3 kills for the linear mode and not 2 in PvP. It’s fine in PVE.
Great job with the gun, I can’t wait to get it. Thanks.
Edit: Deleted the comment about anarchy because apparently it was too much for someone’s ego.

2 Respuestastry not to post that you are having fun using a weapon or subclass or whatever if bungie think your having a good time using a fun weapon/ability it will get nerfed :)
-
Nobody in pvp really wants balance. They just want to be the only ones in the lobby using the broken stuff and they don’t like when something out shoots there preferred load out. Then pve gets to take one for the team. The crap is getting old. We’re already hollering about vex nerfs which is beyond belief.
-
As always, PvE functionality will suffer due to PvPer's desire for stagnancy.

Editado por Atreuss: 9/6/2021 4:17:16 PMThis happens every season, every dlc because it has to follow whatever meta bungie wants to push at the time. It's sad that it is this way instead of letting the player play how they want with whatever loadout. It's bungie's fault for creating such an imbalance with weapons and classes that it pretty much forces player to use only a handful of weapons and certain mods. I honestly hate it. Then comes the witch queen and a bunch of stuff will get nerfed again and something else buffed to oblivion because it's the weapon or class push for the dlc.

9 RespuestasI mean anything new that gets put into the game will eventually be nerfed and pvp will end up being the root cause of it. Let’s see wasnt it the new hunter boots that are “broken” have already received a mass complaint and mainly for gambit and pvp because it allowed the charge of a super fast. Yea gambit is more pvp than pve anyways. I mean a balance to pvp sure it needs to happen. But this is bungie and it will have a pve change as well when it doesn’t need one for pve. Also anarchy’s nerf or change was not needed cause of the stupid seasonal artifact that what buffed arc weapons and abilities or something like that. It made pve alittle easier than normal. So what. When anarchy was first released very few players had it and used it. When it drop rate was increased more players got it but it was still rarely seen. Then it was all of a sudden a seasonal mod came out with the artifact that made the weapon to powerful and players started using it more and having fun. Heavens. Why would that be an issue. You see where I’m going with this. Egos asides which I know some can’t. For pve there needs to be an obvious power fantasy to keep players interested and we can’t have that if everything we get new or other wise is nerfed or changed to be different than what it should. Pvp I make it obvious and outstanding that I do not care for it because it is the base root cause of many thing wrong with the game.

1 RespuestaEditado por $hirtless Captain Kirk: 9/5/2021 5:13:28 PMBreach and clear lead to Anarchy nerf. Particle Deconstruction will probably get fusions blanket nerfed. Yet, it's fusion season and getting good fusions is cool, but when will they get nerfed? You mean that feeling?

Yes make the drop rate low, everyone do raid 1 million times to get gun, nerf incoming, tis the way of bungle

This has happened with every major buff in the game.
This is all planned. They call it powercreep and they say it's bad for the game but that is just a publicity stunt. The real reason why they do it is called controlled meta. I saw a guy here some time ago said powercreep sells. And that is exactly what they are doing. They are selling powercreep to you so you could run around chasing that next best thing. The real reason is controlled meta, dangling that power carrot just enough to get everyone running the hamster wheel and then they'll switch that powercreep button again and switches into a different meta again. Rinse and Repeat like clockwork and the cycle goes again. Powercreep sells and they've been selling you this since the beginning. They will sell it to you again over and over because that's what makes you run the hamster wheel forever. Now throw money at screen!
It would be nice to have a certain sense of stability when it comes to buffs and new weapons, knowing that they won’t be immediately destroyed a few months down the line just because they’re complained about in PVP.
That's one of the reasons I quit the game. A sense of stability. It's not there in the game. You could feel an external hand tweaking your favorite gun it's so artificial it feels like playing in a sandbox with other children but your Mommy is holding your hand while you play and the other kids are laughing at you. And that Mommy holding your hand is called the Architects! It feels so fake!
Vex Mythoclast is a perfect example of this. It’s awesome, now one of the best guns in the game thanks to the recent buff, but people are already complaining about it being too strong in PvP. Who’s fault is that? The devs.
Precisely. Vex Mythoclast is a great example. Not everyone has it. You can't easily get it. And if players want to get it, they have to go to a certain activity and maybe run it over and over until RNG gives it to them. Perfect example of selling powercreep and keep gamers running the hamster wheel until then. Vex Mythoclast can also be used as a carrot to entice millions of veteran gamers who already left the game a long time ago. You see Mythoclast was iconic back in the day when it came out in D1. That's another form we could call selling powercreep back into the game. A trick to entice those Destiny veterans an iconic gun. But the veterans who left, they all know this is just a trick and they may nerf the gun back and tone it down again. They already know this trick called controlled meta. That's why they are not coming back. And probably will never come back anymore. The selling of powercreep and then toning it down via controlled meta is already getting old. And the vets know this trick. Of course, they've been playing it for years, and that's what the game has offered them. A shallow and empty shell. All in all, I want to conclude this discussion that over the years, I finally understand why they call their game evolving. Because your guns are evolving from something strong to something weak in a matter of months, sometimes weeks. It happens to your supers and subclasses too, sometimes in just a matter of days! Evolving! (Laughing on the floor!!!)

Why I'll never spend silver on an Exotic Ornament. Bungie will always make us weaker and nerf Used weapons.
-
1 RespuestaThat’s why I quit the game. Why bother paying and grinding if everything released is either bad or will soon become bad by being nerfed? Makes no sense. On top of that, the vault has been tiny for years, so your game loop is constantly deleting blues, legendaries and exotics. I’m so glad I switched to a better looter game like Genshin Impact that from the get go has 10 times the size of destiny’s vault, and there has never been a single nerf since the game released, and trust me, there are EXTREMELY powerful loadouts that the devs know about but refuse to nerf, and the game still retains difficulty and challenges. It is night and day difference. That game my have issues too, but at least there I have the peace of mind in knowing that my weapon will not be nerfed to the ground in a few months.
-
It is beautiful in PvE. I don't want to see it touched. In PvP it is a bit stronger than I was expecting. I took into IB earlier and wrecked with it. The .ain thing is that you need to hit those headshots. Ive seen it recommended that the stacks be reduced on Guardian kills which I'm not opposed to. I'm primarily a PvE player so I just want it to stay how it is against combatants.
-
1 RespuestaI actually find it somewhat liberating. It means I’m never going to be stuck using “the meta” for long. They always give us a seasonal meta. This season is Fusion Rifles. Previously I wouldn’t have touched Fusions, but now there’s reason. No matter what gets nerfed, they’re always going to give us a very strong option to replace it. I can live with that.
-
1 RespuestaOh mythoclast will definitely be nerfed. But not now. I say give it some time. Once the fusion mod is gone, it'll be fine in terms of damage. The range will definitely need to be brought in though.
-
Be careful what you wish for about the nerfing Of the vex mythoclast it will happen and called The monkeys paw and fools errand

Season pass owners will get some exotic that wrecks in any game mode then after weeks of people -blam!-, nerf it to where it's never used, then buffed next season where it becomes mediocre. Bet you will see this when ghally comes back in December. Then when TWQ drops the smg will be OP. Everything is op to someone when they get killed by it. But when thier stuff is OP its fine. Vex as example is not op or busted. The range falloff is already bad in pvp and those of use still on kast gen dont get that magical non recoil stability that pc players have or current gen. Thing kicks all over the place making you miss more shots than hit.

Bungie are masters of manipulation. Minimal effort = maximum profit.
-
I'm not reading the whole post but of course if something is really good, it is subject to be nerfed. You have to understand that the game and the sandbox are constantly evolving, and you should expect changes to come. They can't just buff everything, and they can't always get the balance right on the initial release. In fact, if everything was perfectly balanced and there were never any sandbox changes, the sandbox would get stale.

Advice: find something good, but not great. I had decent results with the Vigilance Wing, before CBMM rendered the Crucible unplayable. Crimson, Ace of Spades, MIDA, and others are also out there. A tier 2 weapon that you specialize with will probably be just as effective as a tier 1 weapon you spend a month mastering only to have it nerfed into oblivion. Fun story... I remember sharding my Prometheus Lens, just before the first big nerf hit. She might have died, but she died when she was still awesome.
-
Ive felt this way for a long time, and I think it's why I've always gravitated to mid-tier stuff like Sidearm & fusion rifles since they were always so average lol.
-
bungie should invest in a good beta testing squad for nerfing/buffing/new weapons/abilities so this happens less or just tell the community that they want us to beta test for them, but thats lazy af and we are basically already doing that lmao
-
There is nothing wrong with nerfing things as long as its done correctly, Ive seen what the vex can do. What really made it busted was the increase in fire rate, you cant increase range and stability with a catalyst granting modified rampage with an increase in fire rate while keeping the base damage exactly the same. Thats where bungie messed up, fire rate went up and somehow the gun kept its base damage so it just melts everything in sight. I love every other buff it got, the linear fusion mode is awesome and the catalyst made it an exotic worth using. The pve buffs are really cool too, the gun just didn’t need an increase in fire rate considering the insane amount of range it now has.

4 RespuestasToday I found out of something that's really good against bosses, like really really good, but I won't be a dumb youtuber/streamer and scream it to the world so that the crybabies complain about it even if its something that's good for the game.
-
Well the game would get pretty stale otherwise... Embrace the change, don't hate it.
-
38 RespuestasDoesn't always take months. Look how long Lorentz driver lasted before the PvP complaints started and a nerf was brought out. 😜 Moaning from the PvP crowd is why we can't have nice things. Anything even REMOTELY powerful is impossible in this game.
-
10 RespuestasWell pvp is unplayable, especially stacks of people with Mithoclast vex ,there's no counter to it is already getting out of hand.
-
2 RespuestasI have vex and have used it pretty much exclusively in PvP this season. It is too strong. Things can be strong without being outliers - the messenger, le momarque to name a couple. Balance requires buffs and nerfs and I think the sandbox is in a pretty good state but vex is a bit strong.
