    • Crucible is fun just the matchmaking sucks. I don’t get mad anymore I just shrug it off and on to the next. Nothing I can do no need to rage and be all upset. But that’s what makes me get better.

    • I used to think like this. Not because of anything unbalanced I just sucked. I have gotten a little better over time and while there's always people better than you it's fun to practice and learn new strategies and maps to start winning more. Crucible needs updates like new maps and game modes but rn it's still pretty balanced and fun imo. Just get good broh

      • I think it's loads of fun. The meta is pretty balanced compared to other sandboxes we've had over the years. yeah new weapons can be annoying and hunters are always crutching on their dodging and jumping but it's always been that way. Just gotta adapt. I play on PS4 and still have decent games even with crossplay.

          Is it fun facing meta six stacks? No. But crucible is also not filled with dregs and thralls. In crucible, enemies actually shoot back.

            • I go in to pvp for two purposes, pinnacle and to complete an exotic quest. Never once have I enter pvp expecting to have fun. Go in, complete what I need and get the hell out as quickly as possible.

                thats cause this is a pve game, nerfing weapons wont fix it, removing 1 scav didnt fix it, nerfing/reworking abilities wont fix, hell even double primary didnt fix it, no matter what pvp will never be good ina scifi pve game that is all about stupid destruction

                      I normally do okay in IB. Enough to get by with my dignity intact after my bounties are done. But this IB has been brutal. Edit: OK so after doing some reading, I tried out the regular IB queue instead of freelance, and I felt like the queue was substantially easier to play in. Anecdotal I know, but to me there was a noticeable difference. I play solo on XB.

                      • Add arena mode. Halo and splitgate will dominate gaming this fall season because ppl love balance, and true skill team shooter with a high TTK. Update cod space magic (current pvp) it’s pure trash dominated by shotguns and god rolls (which is why pvp is less popular than halo MCC, paladins, overwatch, cod, apex, fortnire, R6, and the list goes on) Bungie should be embarrassed and ashamed with how little pvp has evolve since 2014.

                                • Iron Banner Freelance is pure toxic, rampant Vexs, people killing others behind walls or other structures. Hunters just dodging 4 times in a row, shot gunning through Titan barricades, getting killed by an opponent when you see they're clearing sliding with their gun pointing to the gun. The list is endless, why do I pay money for this game again?

                                  • It’s got all the pieces to be truly fantastic, and every now and again you get a match that is. Close, hard fought, with almost everyone in both teams getting kills and probably really enjoying it. The mechanics of the game are fantastic, the movement and gunplay is brilliant and the range of abilities/supers has variety and can be totally bonkers. Weapons seem very well balanced at the moment also. You can compete with (almost) anything. Yes, more game modes and more maps. More variety of maps, more bigger maps, even 4v4 options. I played a match recently where for half the match it was just 4v4 and it was seriously good fun. Sadly matchmaking and lobby balancing is a sack of horse ****.

                                    • Pvp has been in shambles for a large myriad of reasons. 1. Population One of the biggest reasons. The population is in shambles. There are not enough people of all skill tiers to have healthy matchmaking. As a result, the skill gap has become so high that newcomers and low tier players have left, doing the 3 for a pinnacle and then go out. This leads a little bit for our next bit. 2. Sbmm vs cbmm debate Truth is, neither works if there is not enough people play Cbmm: High tier players and stacks dominate the entire playlist. Mercies and stomps are very common. This results with the lower skill tiers leave crucible rapidly. As time goes on, more and more skill tiers leave. Skill gap skyrockets. We eventually get to a “pseudo,” Sbmm, with laggy games, consistent sweaty games, and longer loading times, since the game now has to “cut corners,” with connections and such in order to lessen the time your in orbit. Sbmm: Higher tiers leave from frustration from lag and being forced to play the meta and their piers. They begin to leave in droves. However, thing is, the few that remain after a while will eventually continually match lower tier players, as the game has to cut corners again to lower times in orbit. You will face their wrath eventually. Point: If the population is not high enough, neither system can properly function. After that long tangent, let’s get to the next reason. 3. Lack of resources going into pvp. Crucible has had very little in terms of updates for almost 3 years No new maps. No new modes. Nothing but balance updates really. Many maps and game types have also been removed from the game, which lowers variety EVEN MORE. To put it simply, there has been such little done with pvp for so long, it’s become stale and people are just bored and tired of doing the same things over and over again. 4. Lack of loot incentive: Pvp in destiny greatly lacks rewards. There is virtually almost nothing a casual or a pve main to chase by playing pvp. Trials weapons focus on primarily pvp. There really isn’t a good roll for many trials weapons in pve, and there are options that are far easier to get for pve players. Adept weapons in particular would be what most pve players will go for anyone, due to adept big one specs. If it can’t get that, its worth in pve is not that high, considering the adept weapons from both VOG and gm nightfalls. The playlist specific weapons as well have virtually little in terms of pve god rolls. Frozen orbit might be an exception with appended mag, triple tap, vorpal or high impact reserves, but it has SO MANY perks in the third and fourth slots, it’s near impossible to EVER get that roll, ESPECIALLY since the weapon was released 3 seasons ago, and the probability of getting it is FAR LOWER NOW, then when it was released. The fact that it’s drop rate is SO ABYSMAL, lowers the incentive EVEN MORE. Why would a pve player grind any of these, when they hate pvp so much? IMPORTANT NOTE: Adding loot incentive to pvp may not have the “desired outcome.” Take trials cliff diving for example. Trials was so bad that people essentially committed suicide just to get free loot. Adding fantastic pve weapons to a generally hated playlist will more likely just make players throw games in different ways to get the game done faster and get drops. Loot incentive, on its own, has to be done carefully. 5. Lack of dedicated servers. This game can never be considered truly competitive without this. People who lag have a major advantage in game in all parts of pvp. Stacks in particular always have this advantage due to the wildly different connections each member of their party has. Essentially, cbmm is thrown out the window in terms of connections and every person in their stack is lagging since they wouldn’t normally match each other if they were split up. Bungie has already stated that they have no plans to get dedicated servers, so… 6. Balance: This game CANNOT be perfectly balanced. There will ALWAYS be a meta. There will ALWAYS be a perk combo or a exotic outshining the rest. There will always be people running around with what’s the best in the game. This type of thing GREATLY lowers build diversity, especially since most of the lower tier players have left anyway, meaning to do well, you pretty much have to use the meta. 7. Killer mentality and bounty mentality: Everyone must understand something. Everyone plays for different reasons. People with killer mentality want to pad their k/d and do not care about their Elo or winning and losing. This means in games like control, they literally don’t care about zones. Just their k/d. Players who feel forced into the playlist, will typically pick up a bunch of bounties and will focus on those in game. They literally don’t give a care about the control points. They want their 3 game pinnacle and as any bounties done as they can, then stop playing for the rest of the week. You can’t expect anyone to play the objective in a game when they have they’re putting their own objectives over winning the game. 8. Cheating and recoveries: Despite Battleye, this will always exist. There is no sure proof way to stop these organizations. When ANYTHING incredibly valuable is locked behind a difficult activity like trials, desperate people WILL turn to illicit means to earn them. This is human nature in today’s society 9. Team balancing: With such little diversity in skill tiers playing pvp, a high Elo player will be forced to carry every other person on their team to win, while the opposing team will probably have a large variety of mid tier to above average players. Again. Population is VERY important for pvp. It’s a difficult slope to balance teams if you put basically a high Elo player one or two mid tier to above average players. The result will be the mercy of the other team. But the same is true when you put a high Elo player with a bunch of new lights. He’ll probably get mercied instead, and probably be the only positive k/d player on their team. Aka, it’s difficult for team balancing to have any sort of balance with today’s player pools. There is probably more reasons for the current state of pvp. In all fairness, we all had a hand with the state of pvp.
