I completely disagree.
Still 10 times better than y1 pvp.
Nope Y1 was actually balanced and pretty competitive. A little spice on that meta an it's perfect.

Is this not what D2 trials is? Tool.
Is this not what D2 trials is? Tool.
Whos talking specifically about trials? We are talking about destiny 2 pvp as a whole. How the hell you gonna misread the title and topic and call others a tool?

But now people run off and have gun fights solo. In year 1 you hardly never had a one on one gun fight. Stand with your team and ads mida was the meta for year one.

But this all opinion and subjective - some will say it was bad, some will say it was good, and others would say it almost ruined D2. I see so much team shooting in Crucible now, it is unbelievable so I when I hear about people saying team shooting in y1 - just makes me laugh. But I do understand the arguement about slow TTK’s and people standing back wi Mida.

Balanced and competitive was not
-
Eeh it wasn’t so bad, it was definitely boring but it wasn’t as bad as people make it sound.
-
Definitely wasn't as bad as people make it sound. And there have been worse periods than that in the last 4 years.
-
It was God awful dude, what are you talking about lol.
-
It was horrible. Nothing but teams camping lanes to team shot. Compared to that this meta is amazing imo. Personally i think the meta is fine right now. Could be better but theres a lot of different builds that are viable in pvp right now.
-
You think the current gun meta is fine? Or the abilities are fine? Cause I would happily tell you that some of the current builds that can be run in high end PvP (trials) can eliminate most gunplay from the game. That is not how any FPS should be based, emphasis on the shooter part. Not being able to abuse abilities with minimal cooldown times for multiple rounds

Plenty of FPS have other elements to them (valorant, overwatch, many of the call of dutys, splitegate, etc). I understand if you dont like abilities. But then why would you be playing destiny pvp? Thats like playing fortnite while hating the building mechanic. Destiny will never be a pure fps. And thats a good thing because never had it said or tried to be that.
-
I never said it should be a pure FPS... I said and I will reiterate so you can comprehend better, that abilities should never supersede the gunplay in a space shooter. Meaning if someone is using an ability or super for a short period of time they should benefit in that window and be able to take or deal additional damage. However, when a situation comes along where you can actively employ a build that renders most gunplay useless and you are simply relying on broken abilities that remain active for entire periods in activities that have end game content tied to them then that is an issue.

Its up to the enemy to play around that. No different than shotgun sliding titans. You pkay around it. Your logic is that the gun play should outwright abilities. But theres no reason really for anyone to think that. Abilities are just as big a part of this game as the guns. I understand if people dont like that. But thats what destiny is.
