I still see them being used by everyone.

Without bothering to check, I'm going to assume that your crucible stats are better than mine-- so maybe my opinion is worthless here... In my experience, something like a last dance with rangefinder, coupled with expertly managed engagement range, seems to stop a lot of shotgun bullying-- with one exception-- an expertly used slug shotty with range.

3 RespuestasThat's because after ballpark 30 nerfs, shotguns need to be completely destroyed in order to get the intended effect of reducing usage. The problem is small maps, unforgiving optimal TTK on most primaries, and so much free mobility, not shotguns being overtuned. You have summoned me.
-
2 RespuestasThis means that it isn't shotguns that are the problem. It boils down to one thing, small crucible maps

They can be nerfed to the ground and they will still be used because of map design and it’s safe to say it’s a crowd favourite. D1, they removed aim assist, in air accuracy, crit damage, and other nerfs including special ammo changes, they were still the preferred choice next to sidearms.
-
1 RespuestaUse a Trace Rifle. They hate those weapons especially Wavesplitter.

Editado por AoIcrom: 8/1/2021 5:38:51 PMIt’s just the map, ppl use it when you get too close, if you keep your distance and don’t make any close engagement fights then your good to go.
-
1 RespuestaEditado por Spectra: 8/1/2021 4:25:10 PMIt’s better now than it was before. But we could use bigger and more spaced maps and changes to special ammo economy.
-
Still used as much or more as before the last adjustment but now It's a little harder for low skill players to get kills. It's still the default weapon in Destiny and unfortunately won't be changing anytime soon.
-
2 RespuestasThey have a 6m range… if you dying to them that’s on you
-
The sand box team and management is awful.
-
It’s an easy weapon to use so long as you can get close enough. Thank map design for that.

Editado por FireSupport72: 8/1/2021 10:52:08 AMYou're right on the money mate! The nerf as only for aggressive SGs, which meant that lightweight and Slugs would take over. The "nerf" to 120 HCs meant that 140s would take over in it's place. IMO, the SG runners & 3 peek HC users stil have a Plan B. This is to the detriment of Scout, AR and even Fusion users. NO balance here I'm afraid, but still.....one can dream! Best of luck in PvP/PvE when Crossplay hits town! EDIT : There was never any intention to remove HCs & SGs as the ape-peek meta in Crucible. It just shifted focus to another group. At least Stasis is (kind of) manageable.

15 Respuestas
I still see them being used by everyone.
It did do something scrubs can't use them that doesn't mean good players can't. I don't know why this community expects everything to be buried with a nerf and be surprised when the sad realization hits that the player is just that good. It takes 2 hits now when it should take one and you are saying thats nothing are you joking? People saying grenade launchers take no skill but shotguns are still the most used and most common method of death. The meta has not changed one bit only noobs were affected by nerfs not people with a brain.
-
Nope did nothing, I should know it’s my most used special. And yes I’m a part time ape. I’ll admit it.
-
Now Chaperone reigns supreme, check the meta this week on Trials. That gun is getting abused at a whole other level and not even fusion can counter it with the charge time most of the time.
-
I still see them being used by everyone.
Hahahah what? Why do you think the chappy and duality are on the rise. Consistency! Buck shots were effective enough to compete as a choice. Now they are even more inconsistent, short range, and obsolete. Shotguns aren't going anywhere. They are one of the preferred weapon archetypes. And they promote movement, proper ranging, and target acquisition. Fusion's range has been buffed back to what they were pre-nerf. Snipers were nerfed and most have 45-50 zoom. People who like shotgun game play will continue to reach for shotguns. But even someone that can't use one and only dies to them should be able to recognize that they do not function as they once did.

I ❤️ shotguns
-
Yep - Shotty users are just getting closer. Revert the nerf and the follow up melee will go away. lol

It definitely had a strong impact. Ask just about any high-ranked/relatively high-ranked player, and they'll say the same. And if that's not enough, there are plenty of videos on YT that show tests that support that feedback. More and more people are starting to use Slugs, though it's mainly Chaperone and Duality, and many others have opted for old god rolls on Seventh Seraphs or the recently added Riisawalker for the movement bonus, intrinsically high Handling, and very fast RPM for 2-tap potential.
-
So? It's definitely noticable I don't get one tapped as often. fusions and chaperone are the real outlier's now. But hopefully with the changes to the special ammo economy that will be alleviated.
