Sleeper is still not worth you exotic slot
Tested out the sleeper (with Catalyst) now that it’s buffed (not really) max number of round 13-14. Total DPS is just under 1 mil, threaded needed 20 round mag with Vorp total damage approx 1.1 mil. Exotics like suppers are suppose to be OP. Just my 2 cents.

Nothing in the game is supposed to be op. There are lots of other guns that are not worth your exotic slot. These should be buffed before sleeper

Total dmg and dps are not same my vog rocket with overflow and lasting impression can do over 100k per rocket but dmg output is slow but burst when it explodes is high

Ehroar has a video on this; main advantage of Sleeper is not needing crits.

Sometimes it doesn't matter if you have a lower total if you do more "burst damage" in a small dps window. Most dps boss phases are 30 seconds long, and we do a 2 or 3 phase as average. So in context your info is misleading, and you are confused by the meaning of damage per second vs overall. Ps sleepers total dps is not "just under 1 million" That would imply that it doe nearly 1m per shot. That would be insane. Again, 'dps' means damage per second.

5 RespuestasEhoar has a video breaking it down and comparing it to other heavies. Most exotic heavy fall under the 1 million mark. You also have to remember that most boss damage phases are too short dump all your reserves which is why dps is a better judge. 1 exotic you should really complain about in its current state is merciless. Its dps is around 31k and has a total damage under 500k. Coriolis force with liquid coils has a dps of 30k and a total around 800k

Dps is overrated. People who enjoy this game with their favorite weapons won't care about one phasing bosses.

I haven't used it since the the ammo reserve nerf. Bring it back to 16 without reserve mods and I'll use it again. 12 is bad.

2 RespuestasThat's not DPS. If sleeper can do as much damage in 13 shots as a vorpal weapon legendary LFR can in 20, then it's much stronger.

The point of an exotic is to be unique first and foremost; something you build your loadout around rather than it being an extension of a current loadout. In any case, if it takes 20 vorpal linear shots to reach 1.1 mil (so approx. 55k per shot) but Sleeper w/ its catalyst can almost reach 1 mil in 13-14 (let's say closer to 900k, which makes about 64.2k per shot), Sleeper's still doing much better burst DPS even if it falls short in sustained. I can see it having a role in shorter damage phases as long as you hit your crits, and if you don't, then it's still doing better body damage than competing linears.

Just my 2 cents.[/quote] Exotics are supposed to be unique, not op. Sleeper will beat a vorpal legendary linear is dps, but not total damage. Whisper will then beat sleeper in dps, but not total damage. It all depends on what you need in that situation. Dps is damage per second. You’re using it wrong. Edit: should mention sleeper has a lower crit multipliers, so it’s a lot less punishing to hit a body shot.

10 RespuestasThere is always a meta in slot in Destiny. Problem is....everyone gravitates to them or they are demanded for content. It's why there is a grind for them that every guardian strive to get. Bigger problem is... Bungie nerfs and buffs gear to create the metas they want you to play with. Which in turn creates the hamster wheel everyone is on to obtain them.

3 RespuestasThey are not suppose to be OP. They are intended to be unique. Yes, some of them are quite powerful. Yes, many of them have been left too powerful for too long and created the idea that they should be that dominant. Plus you can also blame lfg, streamers, and cry babies.

It’s one of the safest ways to melt champions. And if it can do what another gun does in 7 less shots. That means it hits Way harder 🤦♂️

Does it seriously matter? The meta for the entirety of this game has mostly been get the best exotic heavy and get two other decent weapons for your energy and kinetic. Use the weapon you think is fun if you want to have fun. Use the meta weapon when you want to sweat and get something done. It doesn't matter what meta heavy you're using. Although the way they output damage might be different they all do the same thing. Do big chunk damage to big health bars. It just doesn't matter. It's never mattered.

I think 1 of 2 things gonna happen. 1. there might be a mod next season that will do what breach and clear is doing but for guns like sleeper. And it might finally shine and be very good. 2. They will slowly buff it when they decide to shift the meta . Since they control how we get to play and what we can use to be at our best. Yea yea I know some of you still use whatever you want, as do I, but going into end game activities and you need to be equipped with THAT loadouts and mods lol.
