The simple acknowledgment that classes have strengths and weaknesses means their will be a best class

How so? I’d say it’s the opposite. While a class may excel in one activity, another will in a different one. Thus balancing.

It’s called overall. You acknowledge one class can be better in one activity then we can determine that for each activity and find a winner

We’ve done this already. There isn’t an objective scoring system. You admitted that when you broke down VOG. The weight you put on certain things was your opinion. Others differ.

How so? Then your “meta” class would differ from player A. And player B’s might differ from both of yours. So, who is right? Which one is the “meta.”

A metric is used to determine WHAT the best is NOT if there is one because choosing any metric alone allows for their to be one so regardless of what metric there is a meta class

So, you’re saying different players putting different weight on certain aspects will find their own “meta” class? That’s literally my whole point. If 3 people measure this as you stated and find 3 different classes as “meta,” which is meta?

Which differs from player to player. Which literally means there is no one best class. It depends on the person. You’re agreeing with me…

Well we can find an overall best. Take every metric you want. Every metric you can think of. Who ever one averages the best score is the over all best

You’re really going back around this again. Say you use speed as your metric. How do you do that for a raid? Have every member be one class? Then have that same group do it for the other two classes? Even that wouldn’t work because, as you said earlier, certain people are better with certain classes. So, how do you factor for player skill?

Well for multiplayer it would be a meta team composition

I didn’t even mention multiplayer in that message. Just trying to iron out how this method of yours would even work in a raid first. The answer isn’t complicated, you can’t do it. It’s impossible. Too many factors. Too much bias, and the classes are simply too balanced.

As an example say speed. What team composition can beat the raid the fastest. All warlocks would be my guess they are the fastest and can check every box

But that can’t account for skill. Even if you have the same team do it on all 3 classes, players are better with different classes.

Well people don’t typically solo raids. So assuming a regular raid it would have to be tested. To what is the best loadout to achieve whatever metric you choose

That’s what I was saying. How do you measure that when you can’t isolate a class? Skills obviously differ. Like you said, loadouts and builds do too. You’d have to unify everything you could, and even then it’s impossible to account for skill. So, it doesn’t work. At all. There is no singular “meta” class.

That’s impossible to measure. And most used doesn’t work, because many people pick their main class based on superficial things like armor looks
