Bungie doesn’t have servers. An before it said and anyone tell you other wise they have a save server that allows them to keep track of everything that has to do with destiny. All the assets and so on that are saved to it. So they can change what they need to change apply it and have it sent to every copy around the world so the game gets worse or better by what they change or add to the game’s assets. Two separate thing.
But bungie doesn’t have servers. The game runs off a peer to peer connection that someone’s internet will always ALWAYS play host to the game.
So on other words if you’re internet is not able to support someone that live on the other side of the world of 6 states away then your internet is going to break and shutdown removing you from the game and one of bungie error messages will say your internet was the reason.
An yea to anyone who sees this tell me which code says bungie takes responsibility for when disconnections happen. When you can read me which code says that I’ll shut my mouth. Till then every error code bungie has points to the players having bad internet.
That’s the way it’s always been.
Bungie doesn’t have servers. Cause when was the last time you play anything in the game by yourself no one around for five or so hours without someone being placed there into the same session.

Go read the tech blog, they have servers in a hybrid format. For one server to work another needs to work off another working off all the error checking working properly off another server off the P2P environment and instances. But still. They have servers, just not in the sense we're used to.

You can't copy, have back ups ect with p2p everyone knows that. Clearly you need to do some more research before making these loud accusations. Bungie uses hybrid client servers along with p2p as well as cloud servers. so please tell me that i am wrong when i have a crap ton of information on this that proves it to be 100% true. Btw only pvp is p2p the rest is built into hybrid client servers and cloud servers. btw lost sectors and raids can and have been ran solo since d1 which the word solo means one hence ran by none other then that person with no one joining.

Regardless if there's a server or not, the issue is with the latest update which Bungie has provided. My internet as well as just about everyone else's is not the problem. Bungie needs to figure out the bug(s) and get things running again. If that means going back to the setup prior to the update then so be it. Because it's absolutely worthless as it is right now. Take back the crappy update until it been debugged.

The code that when beyound light came internet connection became worse (with the engine change) and less stable as each update and that there were a lot more players before then now. As they did specified that the did some changes to the engine the game runs that will effect in significant way internet connection etc.. Just that instead of improving the game internet it made it worse...... Serious when beyiund light came out it was the first time I started getting bsod, Freezes backstreet, lag shots. And masive disconnection before beyound light. Atlest for me it was quite smoother significantly. With no freeze or bsod

Most of that would go away if they had dedicated servers and bungie was using there internet as a host over what they have been doing since destiny 1.

You are constantly connected to three different servers (world server, physics host, and activity host), plus the connections to other clients in the area or activity. Actually yes that’s exactly how it works. Just because they are putting stuff out on social media doesn’t mean it’s 100% accurate. You have learned nothing since playing the game and it’s constant issues with kicking people offline or there internet being subpar and not able to handle keeping your pals online. Have you not had the moments when everything is going great and for some odd reason you are emoted from the game and get some bs error code that if looked up with say your internet just up and disconnected for some reason. Like literally not 2 hours ago tour playing the game and black screen back to title with and error code. Look it up every error code if you don’t believe me. Also before you ask me oh does that mean my internet is messed up for all my online games. No just destiny. Next time you get kicked from destiny go jump on one of your other games that is online and ask me the same question.
