Master Vault Of Disaster.

What the hell were u thinking bungie! Couldn't even get the Vault door open with -blam!- smacking enemies with countless overloads. Ive tackled GM's that was solid but this is a master and is bull. Mods were a waste cause they didn't help at all. Wouldnt want to see what the rest of the raid is like in this state. Sorry bungie but were not streamers that can just pile through it and is way to hard for a master. By the time I Try to grind to 1350 the season will be over and have to wait.

  • When I saw what the loot pool I just decided I’ll stay with legend. Basically same loot just not fixed perks. Plus legend is easier than master

    • Ehh, weve had 8 weeks to prepare for this. Im glad its not a walk in the park like normal VOG. I see posts of teams of 1335+ finishing the raid just fine after constant failures. As always, own up to your mistakes and improve.

        • Oh no, difficult content, the humanity... Although let's be honest, it really isn't all that hard. If you have a team that is all 1341, it is very doable with proper team coordination. If everyone does their job properly, it is easy; if one person messes up, it becomes much harder with a high chance of a wipe. This incentivizes continuous precision in gameplay, which is exactly what we should expect from endgame content. I did it yesterday with a LFG group ranging from 1335 to 1344. It took nearly 5 hours to complete, but we got it done after trying and failing on several encounters several times. It will get easier over time with both practice and the community coming together to find better strategies. If you want some practical tips on getting it done: 1. Stasis slaps. Going all in on slowing effects greatly helps with crowd control. 2. Blinding Grenades, for the same reason as Stasis, this helps with crowd control. 3. Warmind Cells, this isn't absolutely needed, but can help in eliminating an entire wave of adds. 4. Use your super often and communicate it with your team. Use your super to either get rid of massive amounts of adds or to delete a Champion. Communicate with your team to ensure everyone is picking up as many orbs as possible. 5. Have patience and learn from your mistakes. Like I said, one mistake usually ends up with a wipe. Have a team that can own up to their mistake, say how they died, and have the team learn from it. This can also lead to adopting new strategies, which may be different than in the Normal raid. 6. Prioritize your own job, don't worry about others. Precision is required of all players, and it is best for everyone to stick to their job. If someone in a specific roll causes wipes continuously, you can then adapt your strategy to have others help at certain points. It helps no one if the cause for wipes is continuously "well, I couldn't do my job because I was helping everyone else". If everyone sticks to their own job and owns up to it when they mess up, it is the best way to get the job done.

          • They had hard-mode raids right in D1, prestige Levi was fine as well. Then they did a complete 180 and screwed up hm EoW and Spire... You'd think they would have stuck with what worked in the past, and learned from what didn't work... Bungie logic though. I agree with OP, there is a whole bucket list of what is wrong with master VoG, and I'm not just necessarily talking about the difficulty.

                  • I genuinely do not understand why contest wasn't used. It's pretty clear you aren't supposed to be running it on level, which is where I think a lot of people are getting confused over. Contest would fix this.

                    • To me it comes down to what makes a game hard and if it is enjoyable. Grinding out the relic level to make something playable I think is where most people take issue. I am 1336 and there is no way I am spending any more time grinding relic levels just to do content. The difficulty should come from mechanics, and maybe throw in some random champs to spice it up. But it takes development time to create new raid mechanics and spamming champs and using light level caps is an easy alternative to add difficulty. So it is basically forcing the player to grind the hell out of the same old content we have played for years just to gain entrance into this activity. I don't blame people for being upset. This isn't about skill anymore, it is about how much time you spent grinding that relic that goes away every season. Difficulty should be based on actual skill, not how much time you spend on the game.

                          • I mean if you cant do this regular vog still exists and you can get competitive rewards from that still This is a challenge for the super dedicated hardcore players with rewards good enough to fit that difficulty. It's not meant for everyone.

                            • Guys this is meant to be challenging. The reward is not the loot but beat the challenge. Just like trials is not for everyone. It's very doable with an excellent team. Kill shit and don't die while completing the objective . I know it s stupid but that's all there is to it. You need to be mindful of your build, shields etc .

                                • Being 1350 won't do anything since in PvE it works by 15 So in order to get a boost against them you would need to be 1365

                                  • My problem isn’t its difficulty. The issue I have with it is the fact that I have to grind out my artifact in order to even play it. My gear’s maxed out, my skill is high (especially in pve), and my artifact is a respectable +17. But I still can’t play what I’d consider the pinnacle of endgame because I didn’t grind enough bounties. What a joke. Screw the skilled players and favor the no-life bounty grinders.

                                      I havent done it but if it's hard that's a good thing. You don't have to do it. The reason hard/prestige mode was taken out of destiny in the first place was because it was so easy that it defeated the whole purpose of normal mode. Everyone just did hard mode because you got better loot for marginal additional effort. If a hard mode is added that is actually a large step up in difficulty that not everyone can reach? Good. You arent really being gatekept from anything because the loot sucks so it's really not hard to cope with missing out. Ive always hated how raids are super challenging and intense on Day 1 with contest and then as soon as the light cap is removed it is never hard again. If you play this game for a challenge you get to enjoy it one day per year. Replicating contest mode in an optional aspirational activity is perfect.

                                        Its meant to be difficult. Also unless you are below 1330 you are not getting 1 shot by the red bars. An overload punch can tho. Most of my team were roughly 1335 with me being the highest. Concussive plus sniper or void resist does help a lot plus using charged builds, stasis and blinding gl goes a long way. Its meant to be challenging like a master or gm. It's also unfortunately not for everyone unless you're willing to build correctly and have good awareness/survivability. People are already templar farming on master.

                                      • Bruh it was piss easy. Idk why Bungie couldn’t make an actual interesting master mode with new mechanics and a contest modifier 100% of the time. If you couldn’t get the door open you gotta get better, cause this ain’t it.

                                        • I don’t mind with difficulty but the drop only from challenge and other encounters give you sama as normal version only this time give chance to get prism and shard,not a worth tbh,super lame
