There's other challenges that are tracked before they're available, and these, being by far the most time intensive challenges, should be too.

I'm not fan of crucible but it has different game modes. Then the weekly mode like team scorched, mayhem, momentum. Iron banner has pinnacles. Crucible has a variety. Which makes a difference. Gambit is just.... tedious.
-
best thing is build up bounties to hand in at legend. You get 0 infamy on losses so the bounties with triple infamy really help.
-
There is a final Gambit challenge in Week 10: Elemental Gambit - Complete Gambit matches with each elemental subclass.
-
I just hate the expunge missions. Not everyone is a jumping-hunter-puzzle-master. Just give me a regular season challenge and ill go about my day.
-
4 RespuestasIf you’re going to tell me that you have already completed the requirements, that tells me you are an avid Gambit and Crucible player. So I’m sure you’ll continue the way you do and you’ll be fine.
-
3 RespuestasPro tip: Don't play gambit until that comes up. Then you can complete every gambit objective.
-
Valor isn't as bad tbh thanks to IB and even Comp. Maybe Trials too? Idk, I avoid that mess. Gambit though...at the very least I'd like to at least have the challenge appear in an earlier week next season. The first 6-7 ranks aren't too bad if you avoided Gambit up till this week, but after that it becomes a slog even with increased Infamy.
-
1 RespuestaI still think its funny that last season the gambit requirement was 5 ranks and we all got mad so they "fixed" it and now it's 16. They said they'd make sub-ranks count and they did, they just adjusted things so its literally the same as it was with bigger numbers.
-
1 RespuestaHow would Bungie milk artificial playtime then tho? They need high player numbers for their investors, fun is secondary, business comes first.
-
LoL that’s why I wait until the end of the season to see if I want to do gambit. Everything counts then.
-
2 RespuestasWait! You actually spend brightdust? It’s literally pointless.
-
I agree the Crucible and Gambit ranks should be tracked from the beginning of the season. It's just artificial padding of play time for completionists. Personally, I just don't bother with seasonal challenges. I already have a metric shit ton of bright dust and it's not worth the effort. I've got other games to play, rather than playing the same mode and maps ad nauseam.
-
1 Respuesta16 gambit ranks. 16! Ridiculous
-
100 percent agree!!
-
1 RespuestaGambit is about as enjoyable as pulling teeth out but I knew the 16 rank challenge would be back... So I basically haven't played any until today and am cashing in on triple infamy. Without an infamy boost I'd rather smack my head against a wall.
-
It's 4k bright dust, meh 🤷♂️
-
Agreed but how would they get us to keep playing those activities. :P
-
I agree. By the time it comes around, i've reset my infamy/valor, and/or am far enough into it that getting ranks takes time, especially in gambit when only wins count towards progress.
-
12 RespuestasI was actually really digging this season having fun thought I’d go for end of season emblem and complete all the triumphs, played couple games of gambit and promptly gave up on that. Thanks for doing the one thing to kill my enthusiasm for you game bungie
-
6 RespuestasYou would have thought that after the feedback they got regarding the similar challenges from last season that they would have had a "Let's rethink these challenges" moment, but all they did was change it from being 5 ranks to 16 ranks for "better" clarification.
-
Working as intended.
-
1 RespuestaAgree. On top of that, during the week of the challenge appearing you constantly play against full stacks in gambit. It's so much fun as a solo player, so much FUN!
-
I have already reset infamy. So not as bad as last season.
-
1 RespuestaThis. This right here. After this BS last season I knew they would do this again so I barely touched any gambit or pvp until all the challenges for them were available. Super frustrating and stupid none the less. Other challenges are tracked and grandfathered in if you complete them before they are available. Why not these!?
-
1 RespuestaGambit is not fun. 16 ranks is absurd. Please remove this challenge.

2 RespuestasShows how little effort and forethought the developer puts into the game. They don't are about the game or it's players at this point. They appear to be milking the franchise for as much profit as possible for as little effort as possible. People are so bored and addicted to the game that they will mindlessly play the same unrewarding activity for hours on end just for a triumph. For a day/night comparison another developer recently released a new game trailer, the hype prompted fans to go back and play their older game from almost a decade ago that still has dedicated servers, the servers quickly hit capacity and the developer noticed so what did they do... for free... they released more dedicated servers so the fans could play... within hours... this is a developer that cares about it's games and fans. Pay attention BNG.
