Just, talk about Space. Tell me something I don't know. It's 'Yuge

Okay, here's one. There are more galaxies in the universe than there are grains of sand on all the beaches in all the world. That's like hundreds and hundreds. At least. Advice to you young persons. Go to a place with no light pollution and look at the night sky. You cannot imagine how many stars there are! You'll realize why the ancient world was so fascinated by the stars and how much we've lost because of all the lights.

Space...hmmm what can I say about space? In the majority of cases if you press it you jump.

1 RespuestaThe moon of Jupiter Europa is an ice moon. However, scientists have predicted that approximately two miles beneath the surface of the ice is an ocean about 5 times as big as earths liquids combined. It is also believed that it could sustain life.

3 Respuestas
Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space.
Theoretically, in the early universe, there were enormous, extremely hot and luminous stars called quasi-stars that instead of fusing hydrogen for fuel, they were fueled by energy released as matter fell into massive black holes at their cores.

6 RespuestasThe expansion (or stretching) of the universe is accelerating and one day we will no long see any other stars or galaxies.

2 RespuestasSome stars we still see in the night sky are not actually alive anymore. Those suns have died long ago, though are so far away the light from hundreds or even thousands of years ago is still visible to us even though it’s no longer there.

1 RespuestaEditado por High Charity: 6/14/2021 6:41:05 PMThe universe is too big and too old for there not to be intelligent life elsewhere The universe is also too big for that Intelligent life to communicate or even be aware of our presence. The universe is old enough that a civilization that could communicate or be aware of us is far enough advanced to not give a shit about talking apes on some water world that still squabble with each other. The Fermi Paradox is fake

10 RespuestasEditado por cinqueMento: 6/13/2021 1:32:34 AMSpace isn’t expanding into nothing, but it’s definitely increasing the distances between galaxies. Instead of moving further away from each other, the actual distance between celestial bodies is being stretched and warped by gravity. Also: space is flat. Somehow reality is stranger than fiction.

Space is huge, obviously. But it hadn’t really occurred to me how big until this website: https://joshworth.com/dev/pixelspace/pixelspace_solarsystem.html This is an accurate representation of distance between the moon, planets, etc. It’s honestly insane. Black holes aren’t massive holes, they are more like spirals that suck everything in. There are so many odd planets out there, that I’ll list a few of them (found these on a different post): Planet 55 Cancri e is a massive diamond. If the diamond market were to calculate it without decreasing its value, it would be worth 26.9 nonillion. Planet Wasp-17b is far larger than any other planet discovered, and is actively disregarding all we actually know about how planets are formed. Planet Tres 2b is the darkest known planet, only reflecting 1% of all light, with that 1% causing the planet to glow a dim red. A Sith lives there, probably. I have plenty more facts, but don’t want to get this too long.

Did you know that there is more space in between atoms then between galaxies? It's true, you can always go smaller but not bigger. Mind blown💥😲💥

3 RespuestasThe average distance between the Earth and moon is greater than the diameter of the other planets in our solar system (plus Pluto) combined.

in movies peoples spaceships always stop moving when they run out of fuel, correct me if I'm wrong but space is a void with no air resistance and no gravity. there's nothing slowing you down. by this logic you should only accelerate while you're foots on the gas and maintain that speed forever when you stop accelerating. only time you'd slow down is from hitting something, entering a gravitational pull, or reverse thrusters..

35 RespuestasThe visible matter and radiant energy that we can directly observe only accounts for about 4% of the universe. The rest is made up of “dark matter” that coalesces around galaxies. We can’t see this matter but we know is there because of the gravity it created. Then there is “dark energy”. The name we given the force that has the expansion of the universes acceleration that we cannot account for.

It's my second favorite bar. Also, just remember that you're standing on a planet that's evolving and revolving at nine hundred miles an hour.
