Allow the relic holder to break out of detainment like in D1
The rest of the changes are ok but why would you allow the relic holder to be detained? It doesn’t make sense, not only that but the shielding mechanism only sometimes blocks oncoming shots. A couple different times I had ads or the Templar smoke me while my shield was up. I feel like the relic isn’t very powerful anymore. I’m sure it was by design but I feel like you need to allow the relic to bust out of detain at least.
Edit: changed title because some of you are commenting saying you could be detained like in D1. My point is you could break out of detainment with the relic in D1. You cannot do that anymore.

I heard at Atheon you can't shoot your way out of it either. You know what I would really like to see. I want Bungie's team that worked on the raid to show a live stream on day 1 to show "how it's done". Seeing how the sandbox doesn't really play the game, and the live streams literally show it, it would be comical. Maybe that's why they don't do it and DE has no problem playing their own game they create and showing a live stream of how it's actually done. Whoops, not supposed to mention Warframe, my bad 😄 Now that is an invite I would accept over Bungie pushing invites to watch their streamers.

No, that means if RNG chooses relic holder, the detain mechanic becomes trivial.

16 RespuestasAlso when you have a screen full of buffs and shit popping up you can't see the detain imminent so have no clue when your gonna get the whole team detained. The only way to tell is when someone looks at you and your glowing white. Bunch of bs.

I suggest you have the relic holder slightly further back from everyone just in case so they can break everyone out if need be. Thats how I did it at least and it worked like a charm.

Person with detainment just run toward atheon and get shot out of it right away lol. Problem with detainment is people dont read after atheon farts out the detainment.

5 RespuestasI was relic holder yesterday and we got detained. I broke us out but not sure how since I was randomly pressing between Super, Cleanse, Slam and light attacks. Need to replicate and find out the solution.

I wish bungie would make the detainment buff more obvious to the person who has it in there screen, everyone can see them glowing so why can't they see themselves glowing? Or red text instead of white to see it better Idk...

9 RespuestasIt was an inconvenience if I was blocking the templar and my FT was at a bad position to shoot it off me so it was annoying at times but not game breaking. I wouldn't mind relic holders breaking free but it's not a deal breaker. But I will agree that it is annoying.

Everyone gets detained, everyone gets same buffs/debuffs, everyone gets same limited revives, everyone has ultra specific roles. “Perfect” balance. No more clutch saves. No more hero moments. “Everyone gets to be the hero” because no one can actually be the hero. This is just how Bungie designs things now.

For Templar sure. The fact that you get caught whilst holding relic is dumb. On Atheon the mechanic is perfectly fine.

1 RespuestaAgreed. This was my only issue with the reworked mechanics. I actually think the oracle changes are great, makes everyone participate in some way but the detainment rework was just made to ensure you couldnt one phase. Makes most the fights feel more rng based (who gets detained, where teleports we gonna be, oracle spawns, ect.) and not mechanic/damage based.

It would be nice if the relic holder could break out of the detainment by themselves again, even if it costed the super charge.

You can stop yourself from being detain if you put the bubble up just before you get detain and it will stop it. At least that’s what someone in my raid party said.

Very toxic and filled with people who post KWTD but don’t even KWTD themselves lol. I’m completing it once then getting voc and il not be near it again. Need a hazmat suit to join some of the groups tbh

1 RespuestaAnother issue is that certain weapons (I know the Xenophage is one of them) can’t shoot through the shield when the player is inside. Pretty sure it’s a big buy it can be pretty annoying for Atheon.
