I downloaded Subnautica on Saturday and played about 2 hours worth. My current rating: 8.5/10. The material grind is pretty annoying, but everything else is pretty good. Also, stupid crashfish. In the words of my friend, “WHAT KIND OF PROBLEMS DOES EXPLODING SOLVE!?” after he was killed by one. I made the mistake of wandering too far from my base and was brutally beaten by a sandshark.

27 RespuestasHow do they handle death in that game? My favorite survival game is Don’t Starve, which completely wipes your save if you die. I feel like if the death penalty’s too soft it’d be too hard for me to get into it.

Exploding solves all problems.

5 RespuestasI think it’s kinda like an isolated underwater Skyrim

2 RespuestasActually not a bad game so far... downloaded it a couple days ago upon recommendation of my brother. I’m still figuring stuff out, and it’s a struggle finding certain materials (I wish they listed the types of environment a material might be found), but I’m enjoying it! Do you just stay in that one spot the whole time, though? O.o

Survival games aren't really my thing, but I got Subnautica through Xbox early access because it looked cool. What really made me like it is, you can turn off the survival stuff, so you don't need to worry about food and water, and just focus on exploring and gathering materials for building.

1 RespuestaI killed a reaper with a knife I ain't scared of them anymore, everytime I see one I'm like "come at me bro I'll turn you into sushi and you sell it on the black market"

2 RespuestasI’m glad you’re enjoying it. Also you may already know this but the reason the crash fish explodes is because the mushroom they live in feeds on sulfuric compounds. And concentrations of sulfur build over time. If the crashfish collides with something at sufficient speed the spikes on its torso are impacted, triggering an explosive chemical reaction.

One of the few games I'd recommend to people to play and sunk a good few hours into. Once you get abut further in and the crumbs of the story start leading you deeper and deeper it's great 😃 Keep diving deeper!

[well, it’s good to know you’re having fun. On the surface your best bet for titanium is scanning repeat fragments and metal salvage, which makes bad construction a whole hell of a lot easier. Aside from that the deeper you go, the easier you’ll be able to find other resources.]
