They’re a movie company. While their movies are technically anime, they don’t follow too many anime tropes, and they’re all really good. I’d highly recommend them. As Vocem said, Howl’s Moving Castle is the best!
-
Y'know, like Ponyo, Totoro, or Howl's Moving Castle?
-
I think ive heard of the last one but none of those ring a bell.
-
Oh, well, the studio company is supposedly renowned for their stunning artistry, moving scores, and vivid stories. Totoro was... kinda eh to me. Ponyo was better. And Howl's Moving Castle was the best. However, the trailer for it gave me rather low expectations, so I was rather surprised by the world building and colorful characters. Also, there's no high-pitched, skimpy-dressed characters. ...and the films come in English.

*grumbles something about being annoyed how I still haven’t gotten a chance to watch Ponyo*

Editado por NinjaW/ramen: 3/21/2021 1:33:09 AMWait, YOU'VE never— I can't even complete the sentence. I mean, it's a Disney movie! How can you, of all people, not have seen it?! If not for the story, watch it for the superb artwork or the creature designs! Seriously, there's so much creativity invested in the multitude of life just casually swimming in the background. There are so many times where I would watch this with my siblings and be like 'Oh, look! Did you see that shark-thingy back there just eat a jellyfish!' It's impressive. Again, I didn't really like the story, but I would still recommend the film!! A true treat for the eyes.
-
I never said I didn’t want to see it. In fact, I said the exact opposite; I do want to see it. It’s always sold out though. Harumph.
-
*pats head* There, there, I understand, Mr. President. Don't worry, there's always a streaming service, yeh? Or maybe a library where you could rent it for a buck or two. Unless, you really wish to watch it on the big screen?
-
I don’t use streaming services! If I’m getting it, I’m getting it on DVD! (or Blu-Ray, either works) And I hate renting movies, because I like to rewatch them sporadically. Not seeing a movie is bad enough, but seeing it once, then not owning it when you want to watch it again later is even worse! >.<

Oh, well you have my utter condolences. Perhaps you'll find one in a thrift store or a garage sale? Also, I just found out Liam Neeson and Matt Damon were in it. Goodness, I was watching an action-thriller this whole time and I didn't know it?!

Holy f@$! what?
Oh, well you have my utter condolences. Perhaps you'll find one in a thrift store or a garage sale?
I think my best bet will be going online. (As much as I hate online shopping) For now I’ll just take a peek whenever I need to swing by a movie store.
Also, I just found out Liam Neeson and Matt Damon were in it. Goodness, I was watching an action-thriller this whole time and I didn't know it?!
Ahahaha! Ha! Ha.. Haha.... . . . I don’t know who those people are.
-
Eesh, I tried to use online-shopping, but paypal hates who I am. ..or maybe my species is beyond their comprehension, 'cause they never finish processing me. *cosmic shrug*
don’t know who those people are.
Qui gon jinn/Aslan and some assassin.
-
I don’t shop online too often. If it’s possible I always prefer physically going into a store. You gotta pay all those shipping costs, and if something’s wrong it’s such a pain to fix it. Ugh. Oh, well, I know Qui-Gonn at least! I know who Aslan is, but I haven’t seen the movie.
-
Have you read the Narnian series?
-
I haven’t. I know he’s the lion, though.
-
Read it as soon. As you can, read it. Oh, for the sake of childhood, READ IT! Do you know anything about C.S. Lewis or the Inklings?
-
I’ll keep it in mind, but I’ll be honest with you here, I never finish books. I have like 5 half finished ones sitting on my desk. As for C.S. Lewis, I know the name, but that’s about it. As for the Inklings, no. Not unless you’re talking about squid kids anyway.
-
Well, I suppose the movies could be watched as well, but the books aren't that long. C.S. Lewis: WW1 veteran, professor of Oxford and Cambridge, critically-acclaimed writer, and all-around logical smart-man. The Inklings was a little writers club, one Tolkien was a part of. Speaking of which, C.S. Lewis and Tolkien were good friends who shared their stories to one another (well, until someone said something about Tolkien's world-building. He kept to himself after that).
-
I did know Tolkien & Lewis were friends, but I knew that because I know a bit about Tolkien, not Lewis. :p I’ve seen a bit of the movies, but I can’t say I enjoyed it very much. That was years ago, though.
