Did it at 1300.
The second I saw your post.
For reference.
Class: Titan
Subclass : Stasis (why not it's busted).
Bow - Arc (Trinity Ghoul for pedantism) - Overload mod
Sniper - DSC Sniper Forgot the name. - Anti Barrier mod
Heavy Sword - Falling Guillotine Void - Boss spec.
First run was flawlessly done.
Your mistake was going in under levelled. Pure and simple.
Overloads are working as intended. Player error as usual is overlooked.

The issue is that the mechanics breakdown when you go in underleveled. They may be working as intended, but that intention is bad game design. Especially when Bungie changed the entire damage curve in an effort to envy us to take in content while underleveled.

I shouldn't have to tell you of all people that.

That’s the short term solution. Which is why I walked away. But the actual fix is to tune the overloads properly. When you can’t do it underleveled and everyone is having to run the same loadouts, that’s a design/tuning problem. That’s why The Reckoning was so bad.

Overloads themselves (while prone to bugging out which needs addressing sure) are fine. Reckoning was a show of what happens if the game doesn't get the serious maintenance it needed. Which is a multi facet of issues. It was fix those issues or build everything to reckoning standards. Lost sectors were designed with the intention of two things. Solo playability in mind. Not going in alone under the power recommendation. (this one is a tricky subject as it's considered an arbitrary gatekeeper but fuels into the need to grind). Bungie gives us the tools we need , e.g. champion mods. To overcome these encounters. It's down to us as players to reach the power required and then either steam roll the encounter or overcome it. That's Destiny 2 in a nutshell. Grinding power then grinding what you want. Wheel to wheel that slows down at points but doesn't stop. That said you don't need the same loadout for every place you go.

Missed the point. There is something called “build diversity” that is an essential aspect of a game like this. Punishing content like these lost sectors and The Reckoning strip the game of build diversity and reduce it to one dimensional experience. Where only one or two builds are effective. Bad design for a loot game.

You know . . . sunsetting kills build diversity, which I agree, is bad for a loot game. . . .

When you don’t also increase the depth of the loot pool and the generosity of loot drops along with it? I agree. Joe Blackburn probably does as well.

We just play in the box they design. Some like it, some don't. That being said. Build diversity changes on Bungie's terms not ours. Play how you want only applies to the core content. Lost sectors aren't a part of that. Could the diversity be wider? Sure. But do Bungie have the capability and resources of designing content that makes every build viable? The current way the wind is blowing should tell you no.
