[b]Alignment:[/b] “Alright, you do you. If you do plan on going out in the wilderness, bring back something interesting you might find. Seeds, funny rocks, plants. Anything that seems interesting.”

[b]Alignment:[/b] “Yes ok. Now, off with you. Show us all what you can do.”

[i]Malthior leaves, heading for the north. [/i]
-
[i]You move away from the village towards north. The crunching of the snow and the howling of the wind fills your ears, but through them, you can hear roars and howls of all sorts.[/i] [b]Unity:[/b] “It’s always north with you people. Do you people actually enjoy danger?”

"No, but I can endure it."

[b]Unity:[/b] “How can you people be so sure about that? You haven’t even seen the beasts.”

"Not yet." [i]Malthior continues to walk towards the north.[/i]

[i]You continue to walk through the snow until you notice something moving through the trees around you. You can’t see much, but you see 2 figures with white fur jumping from branch to branch near you.[/i]

Malthior pulls out his staff, which makes a quiet ringing that echoes amongst the trees.

[i]The ringing is drowned out by the howling wind, but through it, you hear the creaking of branches. Suddenly, you feel something pounce on your back and screech in your ear.[/i]

Malthior attempts to escape by rolling to his right.

(6 + 3 DEX = Success) [i]You roll to the side and feel the creature’s grip release. You get up from the snowy ground and see the creature is a white howler monkey standing in front of you with a black stub on its head and glowing red eyes. Behind it stands another monkey of the same appearance standing on a branch.[/i]

[i]Malthior grabs his staff, swinging at the head of the creature.[/i]

(13 + 3 = Success) [i]You swing your weapon and strike the beast on the ground.[/i] (20 = Critical Success) [i]You strike with such force that your staff completely severs its head. The other monkey hoots and hollers as it jumps above you.[/i]

Malthior readies his staff in both hands, attempting to strike the monkey on its side.

(3 + 3 DEX = Consequential Success) [i]You hit the monkey, but on its leg instead of its side.[/i] (7 + 2 STR = Success) [i]You hit it with enough force for it to spiral away from your direction. It lands in the snow right next to you and begins to get back up.[/i]

Malthior brings his staff up above him, and goes to slam it on the monkeys head where the black spot is.

(2 + 3 DEX = Failure) [i]The monkey rolls out of the way of your staff and gets back up. It stands its ground and hoots some more.[/i]

Malthior grabs his staff again, striking at the monkey twice.

(9 + 3 DEX = Success) [i]You land 2 consecutive blows on the monkey.[/i] (6 + 2 STR = Success) [i]The monkey loses consciousness after your second strike, but doesn’t appear to be dead yet.[/i]

[i]Malthior inspects the head of the monkey. [/i]

[i]The back of its white head is stained red from the bludgeoning you gave it. The black stub on the top of its head appears to be growing.[/i]

Malthior examines his surroundings before prodding the black… thing with his staff

[i]You poke the black stub and it slightly wiggles. Immediately, the monkey gets back up and swipes at you.[/i]
