For me I'd like to be able to leave the game for months and when I come back still have enjoyable matches with CBMM.
With SBMM if you get rusty or take breaks it's like arriving late to a fighting game.
Maybe if they cleared the skill brackets each season or something maybe.

Same thing happens in CBMM if your in the bottom 50% you get smacked anyways
-
That's not how it works my dude. You'll get smacked by any player higher enough than you. SBMM won't make you smack people more and even then when you hit your wall the only way to progress is keep getting smacked since the game always puts you at a constant disadvantage. I'd rather take what we have now. Truly balanced lobbies and a couple of bad matches rather than needing to sweat every game all the time.

Saying bottom 30% isn’t as high as bottom 50% considering 50% is supposed to be average skill since its the halfway point. Anyone at the Bottom 50% wont ever beat someone in the top 40% in a 1 on 1 fair fight. Someone in the top 40% has a chance against someone in the top 30% because they are both skilled players, one is just better then the other if they were to do a fair 1 on 1 its not as unfair a fight

I think you should go and see how League of Legend's ranking playerbase is populated. There just are not enough players to populate each 10% skill group outside the 40-60% to make SBMM enjoyable in Destiny in a way that works how you describe it. Almost 40%of the playerbase would end up screwed in either end of the spectrum.

You cant compare another games pvp to another
-
And I did not. I wanted to give an example of how the skill tier of a game works. Do you actually think there are an equal amount of people in the 1-10% 45-55% and 90%-100% skilled players in Destiny? There's a mathematical reason as to why an average is always the most populated skill group.
-
There is still aton of people in the top 50% And you need to understand most tracker sites that show % stats account for people who dont play the game anymore or dont own it but have made a profile
-
That's why I did not use any of the sites as an example. And for SBMM it's exclusively bad for the better players since it makes the better end matches an infinite sweat fest. I'm not even in the best of players, above average and I've been there done that and I can surely say I'll personally never want SBMM in it's basic state ever again.
-
Im not a good player either and i prefer SBMM over CBMM any day both take as long to load now and atleast with SBMM i can get better and have fair matches to get bounties done With CBMM i face players better then me often and get stomped with the game ending in 5 minutes from a mercy rule, I barely get any bounties done and didn’t improve at all
-
Ehh for me SBMM is only good when there's a huge playerbase. Sure PvP matches are in their worst state currently, but it's a combination of problems where SBMM won't work to fix it all and for me it would just add another layer of complete ass to it. But sure I get that a correct SBMM would be superior to CBMM, but currently I have no expectation for it to be good enough to work as people want so mixed lobbies are more reliable even if it causes mercies.

All that needs to be done is the game be improved so it can have a large population, it use to have one but not anymore
-
Ironically enough it still has one of the largest ones but in the case of matchmaking the game needs to fundamentally improve in layers before the matchmaking can be addressed. I mean I've gone up in KAD for like 0.5 just due to having access to Stasis. And I can't even start to make up what it would do to SBMM when we have an objective easy mode for PvP now.

Once again, stat tracking websites use stats of people who have accounts on the game so people who haven’t played in 2 years are shown their You gotta look on active players, its not that high of a number
-
I used Steamcharts which is a daily active count on the PC platform. And while I do believe consoles have more dedicated players I can expect the changes in players be somewhat the same.
-
Dunno how steam tracks it but i know stat trackers count total people who own the game when it comes to amount of people who play
