Had a good laugh at the replies but... No its not they want to play Halo its that they want the game to be moved into a better direction than a constant spiral of impermanence in the game. Armour and weapons are sunset. Can't view our old triumphs anymore. Exotics will soon be on the chopping block for sunsetting. Hell even supers are being considered to be put on the chopping block. A significant amount of great content has been removed and replaced with useless garbage like the Cosmodrome. No good MMO or loot game has not a single drop of permanence for the player. The only permanent things the player has in the game is cosmetics most of which are only found in the Eververse store. There is a lack of substantial updates for "core playlists" and the lack of content has to be substituted for filler content like bounties or chore list grinds or quest steps or RNG power levelling which should've been done away with in Shadowkeep and had XP be the main way of levelling your character. Gear could lose the power number due to XP based levelling making it more about the loot than the number it holds, that is what a good loot game would do.

Oh, dude. Don’t play loot games if you are a collector or want permanence. That is the first lesson you learn playing loot games: [i]Don’t fall in love with the gear.[/i] Because the game always has to take it away from you at some point. What Destiny needs is a personal space where Guardians can basically collect trophies. The base camp on Europa is a step in the right direction. But it needs to be a space that the player can personalize, and that is the part of the recipe Bungie keeps getting wrong. Bond with your character and it’s history in the game. Not any of his or her stuff.

But without those things and taking away anything the player can obtain or has played within the game just proves its a horrid loot game that cannot figure out a way to satisfy the player's need for permanence. But at this point unfortunately Bungie cannot afford to take away gear from the player. They cannot produce enough loot and they have shown they cannot or will not give core modes the updates they need. But when you keep taking away from the game all you are left with is a husk of a game that has no substance and no interesting elements. Any sense of variety is just gone... RNG levelling needs to go. Bungie needs longer life spans on loot than a year since they cannot produce enough loot to keep the pool healthy without reissuing older loot we have already earned to compensate. If they can somehow figure out how to produce enough new loot then keep the current amount of time a piece of gear has. However, armour sunsetting needs some changes instead of power capping armour it should simply remove the fourth slot from the piece of gear which means you can still use the armour in a basic capacity but would be missing out on those combat style mods. This would respect the players time investment in the armour and allow casual players not have to grind out new sets with the stats they want every year. Any consistent and hardcore players will naturally get new armour with new stats to use the fourth mod slot anyway. If loot is being sunset then we need less RNG on loot itself and what I mean by this is the drop itself, having a way to directly grind items within the world pool which is where the most of the loot is would help every player in a drastic way. When you are getting beaten out by Minecraft Dungeons in terms of loot you know you must be doing something wrong.

Lol this was so entertaining. I don't know why people come at you like this. I've seen you disagree with enough of Bungie's actions to know that an apologist isn't what you are. It's more like you've played enough MMO's to know the elements that make games like these run and when a company tries to deviate away from core things that can cause long term problems you identity them. Then you point them out and for some reason people think you take bungie's side when the reality of the situation is you're just trying to convey the LOGIC behind why certain directions are being taken. I hardly see you take a personal agreement or disagreement stance based on feeling. You have well-rounded standpoints. I'm not happy with the game right now but then again. They stand out and refuse to fit in with what the cool kids and the bullies decide how things should be. In my case, I refuse to bend the knee to the notion that everything is Bungie’s fault. Bungie sucks. Bungie is screwing us over if they won’t give each of us a personalized version of the game....at cost (how dare they make a profit!!) I’m a harsh critic. But I try to be reasonable and fair. Which pisses the people off who run on emotion.
