Soulfire is what is generated when a being (likely hive) practices sword logic and kills something. What the worms eat.
Thorn and Bad Juju use the sword logic. Thorn is a weapon of sorrow, not to sure about Bad Juju. But they grow stronger by killing and using the sword logic and to feedoff souls or light. The only other weapons of sorrow are Necrochasm and Touch of Malice.
The thorn we use isn't the real thing. So it's a weapon that won't feed off the light and is just a handcannon that creates pickups after a kill and simulates a similar experience to the real thing. Only Dredgen Yor had the real thing.
Bad JuJu used actual souls to make it during the ascendent realm mission.
I don't know if perks like rampage or kill clip use the light in us to become stronger when we get a kill. They wouldn't be able to proc the perks if a non light being used them.

Not true. Necrochasm was confirmed to be a weapon of sorrow. It talks about it in the lore for the wepaon. Necrochasm reads as follows "The Weapons of Sorrow were believed to be nothing more than a myth. But even the darkest myths are born of some truths, and whispers of the Necrochasm have long filled the Light with dread. It is said the Necrochasm was born in the twilight after Crota’s sword first cracked the Moon. That a lost Guardian’s weapon was altered by the Hive in an attempt to fuse their own dark understanding with humanity’s mastery of war. The result was a weapon that would feed on its owner’s aggression—reaching further when angry eyes drew focus, its hunger rising as it tore through bone and flesh. Any Guardian who comes across the weapon must ask some very simple questions with endlessly complicated answers: Is your Light bright enough to stand, even briefly, in full gaze of the Hive's abyss? Can it handle what has died and been reborn in those shadows?"
