Stop aping. That’s all there is to it. It has a loud audio queue and a bright visual queue when it’s charging. They aren’t OP in any way.

Distance and movement is your friend when it comes to fighting fusion rifles. Glacioclasm is one of the best fusions right now but it needs charge time and a clean shot. Chances are you’re fighting too close with a handcannon or you aren’t close enough with your shotgun.

It honestly sounds like they've been lacking in the general sandbox for so long that this one has suddenly made people start to rethink their normal routine. That's the one that's been hurting you hasn't it? In that case, since Felwinter is so good, I expect all shotguns to get adjusted as well. I mean Felwinter has to make up literally all if not a majority of all shotgun kills in pvp at this point. Totally OP Fusions don't have the range they used to but for a counter, you need to play around your cover. Most players don't want to hear this and instead just want to run around all willy-nilly without thinking about it, which is probably why most people like to shotgun rush. Fusions punish the shotty "apes" or anyone for that matter that ignores the use of cover. Of course it sucks to die to a special weapon but what are you gonna do? This game has so many easy mode guns and abilities you might as well just pick your poison and rest easy at the end of the day.

Was there a major fusion rifle buff in the last month or so that I’m unaware of? Cause from what I remember fusions are a a barely functioning mid range archetype with a drastically lower use than every special weapon except maybe grenade launchers (and I’m not even sure that’s true with how popular truthteller is). If you keep your distance or don’t move in predictable lines, they shouldn’t be much of an issue.

If I’m playing 6s or even 3s I shouldn’t be forced to play behind a wall to “bait an archetype”. If I die to a fusion with my shotgun out I DO NOT CARE. 99% I die to a fusion it’s when I have my primary out. Fusion rifles are so suppressing against people who use weapons with primary ammo.

Fusion either needs to bait you into them or prefire you standing open around a corner, or worse standing in the open without any cover at all. They're reliant on you making the mistake of walking into the charge timed burst. This is why they've never been meta. Personally never had problems against fusions even with just a primary hand cannon. Just hug cover and peek shoot every shot. Time each peek shot when the fusion's either not charging up or is at the beginning of the charge. You have time to take 1 shot and be back behind cover before the charge goes of, at which point the fusion has to start the charge from the beginning. If he's at the tail end of the charge wait it out in cover until he has to start again, then peek. You can repeat this 3 times easily close to a 140 hand cannon's optimal ttk and the fusion guy just got 3-tapped. There's literally nothing the fusion guy can do except either ape you with the fusion which automatically gets him killed vs. an OHK shottie, or slowly try to pie slice around the corner you're behind from distance which leaves you time to backpedal out by how basic geometry works. Current fusion 1-burst ranges are abhorrent capping out at around 25 meters at best. Or just equip a sniper and OHK the fusion before the charge time ends. The easiest time sniping in d2 I've ever had was when everybody was running arbalest for komodo's quest way back when. A literal hard counter. The best fusions (erentil's frame whatever it was) have a charge time equal to a primary's optimal ttk (800 charge time = 0.8 seconds). Plenty time to aim a sniper headshot, even more so if the sniper's also peek shooting from cover. TLDR fusions dont need nerfing. They're the worst specials.
