With the launch of BL, and the deletion of over half of the game's content into the DCV, Destiny 2 is now nothing more than a glorified demo for free to play players and bungie needs to stop calling it free to play when they don't treat it like it is.
On top of that, the increasingly anti-consumer monetization methods that they've been practicing, beginning with, and culminating in, the reduction of the amount of bright dust earned from weekly bounties, has, in my most honest opinion, brought Bungie to the level of EA in how shitty and abusive their monetization model is, with the only area that they aren't equal in is the lack of any actual loot boxes. And it astounds me that people are letting bungie get away with so much of the same bullshit that got EA lambasted by so much of the gaming community.
TLDR: D2 is not f2p and people need to give bungie more shit on how they are monetizing Destiny.

You get a taste of the destiny universe that's all. Like an introduction I'd call it a demo tbf that's a more fitting name
-
The game has now become free to play for me. I was always a paying customer (pre order, all that nonsense) until now. This dlc I got free via my ultimate pass (which I have so my kids can play lots of titles) or I wouldn’t be playing it.
-
Wait wait wait. Listen to me. What if Bungie initially decided to go F2P. And then they realized it isn't profitable, so now they're backtracking on their decision without looking as though they made a bad decision?
-
F2p was a mistake anyway, so.. buy the shit, or don't play
-
I dont have to buy the dlc to play crucible. I dont have to buy the dlc to do strikes, patrols, gambit, trials, or Iron Banner, thats 85% of the content completely free to play.... your “argument” has no foundation to stand on and completely falls apart on itself.

Nevr has been

Bungie like EA? Yeah u basically know nothing. Have u even played an EA game? Do u even know what EA means? They were facing 3 class action lawsuits just a couple of weeks ago! Bruh chill. I dont think people should complain about FREE TO PLAY things. Cause u know, it's FREE.
-
finally , 80% of the game f2p was the worst move bungie ever made
-
There's planty of games that are free, go play one of those then.
-
Get used to it, many other games do the same. D2 is a mess at the moment which is well known. So people have a choice.
-
As some said, Destiny was never actually F2P. F2P in destiny lets you play a pretty much a demo which is generally free anyway.

8 RespuestasNo...from start to finish. 1. The game was never free to play. The most current content always had to be bought in order gain access to it. Old content was given away to reduce the barrier to entry for new players or returning former players. 2. This is an industry standard among MMOs. They sell you new content, and give you the old content to get you to try the game. 3. This is not "anti-consumer". (I am so f-ing sick of that buzzword being thrown around.) There are corporate bad-actors out there. Electronic Arts (EA) is one of those bad actors in the video game world. Bungie is not one of them. Someone isn't anit-consumer or a bad actor simply because you are frustrated and not getting what you want. Just like YOU have a right to be fairly compensated for your work, Bungie has the right to be paid for theirs. They have no obligation to give away their stuff to you simply because you want it....and don't want to have to pay for it.

Most people here think F2P should just die because the majority of players pay for expansions. I really don’t care about 80% of the reverse crap so I am always full of bright dust. For what is free Bungie has to make money somehow off it. All likelihood they make money off the premium content everyone pays for. F2P I would argue is hurting the game. Why would they make new guns that F2P players can get too if they can’t be monetized?

4 RespuestasCrying about something that's free, unreal.
-
The problem is even pay to play or expansion does NOT provide more contents which is a shame and Beyond Light disappointed me a lot.

4 RespuestasEditado por Facelauss: 12/3/2020 5:20:11 PMThere are actual loot boxes called bright engrams Although I’m pretty sure you can’t outright buy them

5 RespuestasEditado por xbroggiex: 12/3/2020 5:20:07 PMYou can still buy Bright Engrams. You can buy season pass ranks which give you bright engrams so therefore you can still purchase loot boxes. Technicality or no you can still buy them. That and forget about F2P for a minute not only do they have a lack of content... WE ALL HAVE A LACK OF CONTENT. Europa is the only destination with any meaningful stuff on it. The other destinations are barren wastelands with zero content. Removing Flashpoints has exaggerated this even more. The Forsaken and Shadowkeep DLC's as they are now are straight scams to the playerbase. All their loot is sunset and there is nothing in that content to progress your character in any meaningful way. You are just essentially paying for a campaign and some exotics which aren't that great. So any new players get screwed out of $40 for old content and Bungie continues to advertise them as something meaningful. The funniest part about Beyond Light is if you own it on one platform but want to play on another that does not have it you are not able to use Stasis, even if you had it pre-equipped it will force you onto light subclasses. Kind of makes Cross-Save useless if you can't play the way you want on each platform, and have to buy the DLC on each platform you use to use Stasis.

F2p is cancer, this game went down hill as soon as that shit started
-
I like how I paid for everything several times already and I don't have access for what i paid for anymore. Beyond Light took a lot and added little. It's a real downer when the people i play with are never on anymore. I'm a big fan and have been since day one, but this is becoming nonsense anymore.

3 RespuestasOld content is free, new content is not.
-
Once games stopped making premium membership..devs stopped making quality work...take battlefield 1..i gladly paid the extra 65$ for premium..knowing I’d get 4 maps and 5-10 new weapons and a few new vehicles..now a days you pay for an season in which are a complete joke and have nothing but useless skins.
-
I've made this point myself, but people don't seem to understand it. That or they just don't care. Do all of you even understand that you cannot even comment on these forums anymore without owning Forsaken? "Free to Play" players aren't even free to voice their own opinions on Destiny 2 over the game creators own forums. If that isn't Bungie saying "We don't care about you if you don't buy our game" idk what is. These people out here can be contributing to Bungie through Eververse and just playing PvP and Bungie just don't wanna hear their feedback. I find that crazy. I find it crazy that any game development studio wouldn't want feedback from their players regardless of who they are
-
D2 vanilla was Free 2 Play, not “all of D2 forever” is free Monetizing content is just paid content, the free shit was a good idea but ended up being one of the worst moves they’ve made Originally it was to give new players an introduction to the game and if they liked it pay to unlock more. Yet here we are, asshole crying daily that there’s not enough free content and Eververse doing better than ever before Anyone with half a brain realised that it was a lure and old content was not only kinda shit, but also depreciates over time. Many still were sad about lack of compensation, good luck to them This isn’t Fortnite or Path of Exile, you want new content, pay for it. It’s irrelevant if you see value or not.
-
3 RespuestasNever was. F2P models are monetized. F2P in Destiny was nothing more than an expanded trial. Pony up like the rest of us. We paid for everything you got for free and we paid for everything else beyond it. 'F2P' aren't supporting this game with micro transactions, seasons or DLC purchases
-
1 RespuestaI honestly can't be bothered to feel empathy for people who aren't willing to commit the $10 for a season pass.

18 RespuestasEditado por Crystilonus2011: 12/2/2020 6:06:21 PMF2P doesn’t mean you get everything for free. It’s also specifically a “free ENTRY point”, meaning you aren’t intended to stay there forever. It’s intended to give you a taste and if you like it, buy the DLC. Stop being a free loader or go play something else. Edit: you get all expansions on game pass last i checked, including the newest one that released less than a month ago
