Class disparity.

I've tackled this issue multiple times. (especially since I was a hunter main but you all nerfed me out of that.) Bungie has made it quite apparent they have favorites when it comes to class. I'm not gonna b**** about them nerfing hunters honestly there's no point in it anymore. I really want to love this game but the fact that Bungie is so supportive of the crayon eating apes is very agitating. No offense to Titans there are a few of you that are actually good at the game and just enjoy the class which is fair enough. Though you have to admit yourselves when it comes to sheer power of a class Titan wins no holds bars. They have the most roaming supers, highest super armor, most abilities that reward poor gameplay, One shot melees (Okay Bungie I know they're not going anywhere at least nerf the range a bit it's a little ridiculous). All this for the price of a little mobility? And that's only because they nerfed Titan skating. (About the only true nerf they've done to the class and not just an exotic related to it.) So, I've said what the Titan's have over other classes but what do the other classes have? Well let's start with warlock (my new main). Don't get me wrong I love playing warlock especially for sniping. They have rifts which can be very clutch and well of radiance for pve. They have great mobility and some of the most interesting armor designs I've seen thus far. Their grenades are rather useful with most being able to be consumed for different abilities. Though I can't help but feel that the community is too quick to call a nerf on anything that challenges the absolute authority of Titans. Not trying to call him out but Datto is a prime example of this. I even said so when he was talking about the changes he wanted to see in beyond light. He mentioned the Warlock melee for top tree dawnblade being "Too powerful". To which I have to respond: How? You play a Titan you guys are the epitome of strong melees most either one shot or if you win you get health regen/ overshield. The slight tracking of top tree doesn't even compare to the amount of melee bs that Titans get. Not to mention synthoceps, insurmountable skullfort, peregrine greaves, dunemarchers which are basically melee wins the exotics. What does every other class get? an extra charge at best for melees. I digress back to Warlocks. I'd rank them second on a tier list of classes for sheer mobility, enjoyable playstyle, ease of use, high skill cap to master. This class is a lot of fun especially when Bungie accidentally breaks something on them which happens a little too frequently. (I'm not talking intended stuff I'm talking super glitches because they've happened a lot). Before it's nerf nova warp was probably one of my favorite supers. (Bungie I still believe you've overtuned this super. Even most streamers have said it's basically a joke.) About the only truly broken thing about Warlocks at this point is handheld which is mostly because of contraverse holds. Otherwise they're rather balanced in my opinion for the most part. Now let's talk Hunter. In my opinion one of the weakest classes to play though probably one of the more enjoyable ones if you're not a crayon eater. Amazing mobility but limited useful abilities. The subclasses are pretty different as well creating one of the most varied gameplays of the classes. This in no way means this class is good though. Don't get me wrong there are good Hunters just the Hunter class as a whole is weaker than the other classes. As I've said I'm not gonna b**** about all the nerfs there is no point to it so I'll talk about the class as a whole without mentioning my frustrations about brutal nerf stick beating Bungie has given them. Hunters have a fun playstyle that is very reliant on mobility and gunskill. No free regen abilities, no additional defenses, hell one of their supers doesn't even get armor but the class is a blast. Nothing has compared for me than my first time popping goldie six shooter and sweeping a whole team with it. I loved it. Though now goldie is a shadow of it's former glory the class does boast some of the most interesting supers as I stated above. You can either pole dance, carry a rail gun, or pull a bow from the nether realm and shut down that roaming striker with dunemarchers on *cough cough* I mean shut down any super. Utility wise though Hunters get a dodge for their class ability which can slip them out of bad situations quickly. For melee they get a throwing knife, a smoke bomb, or wait for it... wait for it.... a punch! All of which have their one useful times they can be used. Now here is another complaint I have. Heard a lot of complaints from both titans and warlocks that Hunter throwing knife is busted. Once again how? The only way Hunter throwing knife one shots is with a headshot otherwise it is either easily avoided or just does slightly more than normal melee damage (I mean it should they're planting a blade in you not giving you a friendly pat on the shoulder.) Fair enough they get their melee charge back if they land the headshot which is iffy but in comparison to other class melees at least it requires accuracy. Hunters class ability is kinda garbage though compared to the other two classes. If you're not near cover it is absolutely useless in most situations where you're going to dodge for survival which means you have to play around cover at all times. One gives you a reload and the other gives you a melee charge pretty cool but other classes get exotics that reload for them or an ability that drastically increases reload speed. So the free reload is kinda meh especially when most good weapons roll with outlaw anyways and you should be clicking heads for max damage. Not saying that dodge doesn't give you some interesting plays I'm just saying utility wise it's a joke to compare it to the other two class abilities. Finally, I'm gonna tackle the triple s tier class. Titans which at this point is more powerful than most anime characters on crack. One shot melees out the wazoo, a shield with a variety of exotics that modify it, decent mobility, most roaming supers, Most useful exotics. Just overall Titans are obnoxiously powerful to the point of meme proportions. It's now commonplace to call people who play this class crayon eaters because the majority of the players who play this class don't even attempt to use gun skill. They run shotguns, grenade launchers, and auto rifles to never have to aim then smash people repeatedly with one shot melees. (Note I said majority not all players who use this class are like that.) To give you the short and dirty of it this class is a utility gold mine. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed playing this class initially but after a while of playing this I could feel the brain cells dying from the ease of use. Basically the formula of sprint, ape, repeat is the common practice here. Though you can be more cerebral it's just generally unnecessary with how strong this class is. Honestly when I do trials or comp with people and we see a three stack of Titans it's a huge temptation to just leave because of how frustrating it is to combat them. I digress though it's a fun class with great utility and great supers. The only downfall is the mobility. While using it's jump directional change is a little clunky. Their speed is slow unless they spec mobility. Even then usefulness of the jumps are kind of iffy at best. (Since titan skating was nerfed) In summation there is a huge class disparity between classes. I just ask that Bungie realizes this before smacking anything with the nerf stick. Oh and before it's stated in comments yes I know Hunters have spectral blades which is busted AF. I know the nerf is coming for it so I didn't mention it don't get butthurt. Also this is just my opinion on the classes though I've voiced these opinions with many of my friends I've played with (even some titan mains) and they've agreed whole heartedly. If you disagree that's fine and all just realize this is probably how many people feel who don't play Titan.

  • Hunters have the highest populating and best achievement rates in the crucible, they're still by far the strongest class in pvp and as such, any nerf is warranted until such a time as there is parity amongst the classes.

    • Titan only has two ways to engage enemies. -Punch -Shoot Hunters have many ways to successful land kills -Throwable melee -Punch -Shoot -Dodge into cqc range -Jump over head when in cqc range to confuse the enemy -Proc invis -etc when it comes to tool kits into winning fights, hunters have the most tools. Your dodge is able to do like 6 different things and yet you're saying Titan is better. But, if you're having more success playing titan in PvP than hunter. You should probably main Titan. imo I think Titan is pretty average.

      • Titans don't do anything broken. Shoulder charge, wards and OEM all got smacked with nerfs. They're a good class. It's okay for things to be good. The Hunter nerf was fair because everyone was spamming dodges at 100 mobility for heals/invisibility/buffs. Now you have to think a little more before you mash your instant heal/dodge/reload button.
