Due to budget and time constraints...

You have full price DLC’s now with pre orders and extra versions that come with a higher cost.
You have Eververse which supposedly according to you was going to lower the cost of DLC’s.
You have a season pass now that you have to buy if you expect to get the full gameplay experience.
How much larger of a budget do you need and how much time does it really take to do the bare bones basics to keep content flowing?
Your newest release will not only remove a major chunk of the game, but it won’t even be adding a fraction of what’s being lost. No vendor refresh, no update to the loot system that revolves around rng and token slot machines, no those are now being nerfed as if anyone could imagine the loot economy being worse than we are now.
Games like COD can sit at over 250GB but we get our content cut for what? I’m tired of the platitudes and the promises to do better with absolutely no accountability whatsoever.
The real issue here is corporate greed and an old out dated tool set that makes making new content a literal chore, just read the Bungie Glassdoor reviews. This game is broken at its core and I’m sad because I love the series. What happened after Reach Bungie?

11 RespuestasIn my opinion, it’s a problem with the upper management. I forget where and when I read this, but it was one of the Forbes articles about Destiny if I remember correctly. In one month, WoW made about 600 million in online transactions. Bungie made slightly les than that throughout an entire year. Management sees: “600 million on a month! Let’s do that! Focus on that revenue source!” So the game shifts. Players aren’t as happy. Sales don’t meet projections. Management: “We only made 1/12th of what we should have! We need to cut costs!” The most expensive part of running a business is having employees. So the first pace that management looks to cut is in labor hours & employees. Meanwhile they cut on other areas as well, but they never get the goal of “600 million a month” out of their head. So they manage from a standpoint of “How can we cut costs AND make that 600 million a month?” The game suffers more, the cycle continues. In my opinion, to set the kinds of sales goals that it feels like Bungie management is trying to reach, they need a much bigger player base and a more loyal player base. They need the players to have more enthusiasm for the game itself. So a smarter long term move would be to focus on keeping your employees and labor hours, run a tighter profit margin for a better product overall. Build consistent customers through less profit and more quality content. Over time, numbers will grow. Sales will grow. People will feel more confident on purchasing in game items because the game is based on a solid foundation that will last and continue to be of good quality. As it is now, if feels as if Bungie is dwindling, slowly reducing content and quality over time while focusing on micro transactions with unrealistic goals. People don’t want to spend 15.00 for a cosmetic item in a game made by a company who might be going out of business soon, or at least isn’t as good as we remember it to be. Quality product first. Build trust with the customer base second. The profits will increase after that. But that’s not how it feels Bungie is being ran right now. This is all just my own opinion.

1 RespuestaDatto needs to shut up and stop blowing smoke up Bungies ass. Forsaken was made during a time expansions were every 4 months or do. Expansions now are annual. If that's not enough time, Bungie need to give up right now. As for budget, don't make me laugh, Bungie have the funds.

Looks like these blokes shouldn't have gone "independent" then.
-
This franchise had so much potential, and Bungie squandered it.
-
It's not always about the size. I used to feel immersed playing this game... not any more. For me it's the quality that counts, and in particular an evolving story wouldn't go astray.

Bungo's partnership with NetEase is the biggest indication of the direction of the game - its all about generating revenue and that's it, and this is primarily through the expansion of Eververse with Shadowkeep and the deep drop off in the amount of time invested in creating content yet charging as much as they can get away with. If Bungo really cared for the game and the player base, they would of either expanded the team or what they probably really need is another sugar daddy like Microsoft who has studios to help with content. But Bungo won't be interested in selling as long as the profits are up through creating minimal content such as expansions, seasons and most importantly Eververse items - anything that involves minimal expenditure yet the highest yield, as that's why NetEase got involved.

2 RespuestasI mean, datto is just repeating what bungie themselves already stated in the past before. Not sure what people expect
CoD is that large because they aren't compressing files. Which is amateur hour game design. That's all I had, have a nice day

5 RespuestasIt doesn't really matter whether BL takes up as much hard drive space as Forsaken as long as its good. And its not out yet so there's no way of knowing.

4 RespuestasDestiny's always had pre order bonuses and deluxe editions. Acting like they're some new invention for income for Bungie is just plain wrong. Bungie has lost the support of two studios that helped them thru Forsakens and the annual passes content. They are now independent, and expecting more content output is just plain delusional.

1 RespuestaDo you believe the Master Chief succeeded because he was at his core, broken?
-
1 RespuestaBungie used to focus on Destiny only. They benefited from a much bigger budget, support from partners like High Moon and Vicarious Vision, AND lead managers from pvp to raids with incredible track record and technical expertise. Yet, they were still “unable to deliver content in quality and time.” Since then, they lost the biggest gaming bank in the world and all of their lead managers, they are no longer supported by HM and VV, what’s left of their workforce is focusing on different franchises, their new board member would certainly prefer destiny to fail, and they have to deal with how covid effects their ability to deliver. Yet all the fanboys believed that they would do better. It’s just absurd. That said I tend to believe that Europa is going to be a nice destination to discover and explore, and that some secrets will keep players busy for a few days. The problem will be the lack of diversity, or say to be forced to play less strikes, less gambit and pvp maps, but still have to complete the same old sets of activities to push the hamster wheel.

10 RespuestasI don’t know how people can expect forsaken sized expansions every year, which was the largest dlc ever, made by 3 studios. And then the annual pass, with 3 activities and 2 extra raids. Also when we only had a dlc and no seasons, the content drought was really boring in d1 every year waiting for stuff to do.
-
2 RespuestasBungie just needs to grow a pair and ask for some help. I’m confident Microsoft would be more than happy to get in on a partnership with them.

bungie REALLY misses vicarious visions

1 RespuestaYou know the rules

2 RespuestasIt’s not budget, it’s their team. Forsaken was made with activision assets, therefore they had teams like Vicarious Visions and High Moon to make more content. Hypothetically, they could make forsaken caliber content, but it would come at the cost of crunch for workers. Cyberpunk 2077 is a perfect showcase of how that doesn’t work. They’ve been pushing the team ridiculously hard and still they’ve been delaying it over and over

1 RespuestaDatto is a fat nerd that hates life, why should we listen to him?
-
22 RespuestasI'll just be happy when he fails to get worlds first again.
-
Be grateful that you are playing the game and that the content will be good. I hope that ya people can change your mood for the game, I’m always grateful for how much content the game has.
-
Almost like having 2 studios and Activision no longer helping, and being an independent developer would slow down content production....
-
I get the disappointment that we won't get forsaken sized content. But forsaken had additional studios helping. You lose those studios, and obviously you can't create as much content. Throwing a fit about it is just naive.
-
1 RespuestaYou shouldn't be upset at Bungie specifically, though they do bear a lot of the responsibility in their individual game. It's an industry practice now to lean on microtransactions. If it didn't work they wouldn't do it. Enough people won't get behind not buying them. Too many people that can't help but look cool or kids whose parents allow them to just buy stuff. Your Reach statement is interesting. I was around then. People were mad AF about how that game turned out. Mainly because of armor abilities, especially armor lock. Basically gamers don't like change, but if you don't change you get labeled as stagnant. Gamers will never be happy.

7 RespuestasDatto is probably the only youtuber that tells it how it is 👍

Editado por Grey Death Storm: 11/1/2020 3:42:08 PM"It’s difficult for the Bungie team to make Forsaken sized chunks of content now - Datto Due to budget and time constraints..." This argument is No Excuse for the lazy half baked content coming out, people would rather pay $70 to $80 dollars for a full new story campaign with lots new Weapons, Armor and Exotics to chase and a yearly DLC content with lots new Stuff. If bungie does not have man power hire new devs to cater for the bigger demand for better content. ITs not an excuse to ship out Comet Dlc with minimum Content to chase, then turn around to people and say they have to accept this duo to budget and time constraints... As far as im concerned if your going develop a game like destiny you need to develop it so the first full year of content is done the base game along with the yearly DLC content is complete and your now working on Year 2 this is only way ensure there will not be a Content drought!! The Argument made is not a excuse, it would be better to give what the player want Full Comet Campaign size of forsaken along with good DLC model full of content, This drip fed model is just garbage and there is no excuse for using recycle content, it looks like to me Deej was abandoning ship. Specially find it amusing that bungie breaks away from Activision leaving all that man power resources behind if bungie them self cannot keep up with the yearly demand for quality big Comet Dlc Content. Sound to me Bunige just shot them selves in the foot. However bungie did say that Sony had a Max Cap that bungie had to adhear to for destiny 2 and currently they are very close to that cap!!. that probaly explains why some the planets are being vaulted
