You do know that by giving you info they also give the cheaters info right?
No one’s asking for super specific details like that... But we literally haven’t heard anything in months. Just saying “We’re working on it” and then going radio silent for months isn’t enough. Nothing has noticeably changed since they said that. Players want to know what’s being done to improve the game’s security. It’s THE biggest problem with Crucible right now, and that’s coming from a console player who doesn’t have to deal with it.

They are using a inhouse made anti-cheat, just like trials it is half-baked. They could easily get a good anti-cheat like the one r6s uses but that would cost them money and the last thing luke wants is losing money

Editado por Hunter_Umbra: 8/25/2020 12:50:58 AMK. Hi Luke Smith. That's the only way you'd know what his priorities are.
Don't confuse my defense of the man as naive. I know the main concern of any company is money
-
Im glad you see that, but if the company actually did care they would have actually spent money on a good anti-cheat rather then producing a inhouse one. Its a simple fact that they don’t want to use money on a anti-cheat
-
It couldn't have anything to do with the engine they use? People like to point out that's why we don't have dedicated servers.
-
The anti-cheat is a software, rainbow 6 is super old and I haven’t heard of them swapping engines ever during the games development. I don’t think the game engine has anything to do with it, even so would it be impossible to atleast commission one from a (I don’t know the proper term for this) known anti-cheat software developer. Because right now the current anti-cheat was made by a group of people who design games not people who design anti-cheat.

You mean battleeye? Hell no. Most battleye bans are submitted through manual reports and Ubi bans them under “battleye”. Thats why you seen big ban waves, its Ubi. Battleye is there just as a first layer defense to see if it can detect poor mans cheats.
-
Atleast the system is able to detect massive spikes in players skill and can actually detect cheats. A few months ago the top player in comp didn’t even have 1 kill and the 3rd place player had over a 200kd Battle eye would have immediately picked up on that
-
Lol Actually no. Masking an aimbot from detection is a fairly basic process as it is really difficult to detect, so no they wouldn’t be giving “cheaters” any ground breaking information. The other cheats are basically nonexistent. It’s much easier to detect manipulation of the data sent between client and server than it is to detect what is basically a client side only hack.

As if just telling us how many bans per week/month/year is going to affect anything on the cheaters side.
-
Do you think telling us how many criminals are caught per week/month/year puts any halt to the other criminals? No. It may give inspiration to other criminals. Same with cheaters.
-
Please explain to me how a cheater would be encouraged to cheat more after seeing those statistics, I’m genuinely curious.
-
If they're low, yes, it does inspire them. Given the hush hush about the matter, I would wager that is the reason.
-
You seriously think cheaters stop after getting banned anyway? Cheat > Get banned > New account > Cheat >...
-
Exactly. That number goes up exponentially if people are told it's that easy. This goes more into the tech involved, but constantly reporting the stats can hurt just as much as help. I'm seeing reports of people supposedly getting Revoker mere hours after the account was created. This shows that it's not just Bungie's responsibility. They can't ban IP's.
-
Nope, can’t ban IPs especially since VPNs are a thing. Same goes with hardware bans apparently. Got the equivalent of VPN to mask your hardware to get around hardware bans. Cheaters just don’t care. They do it cause they can and they’re having fun. It’s never going to stop at all.
-
Exactly. We're well aware of this information because we dig. Imagine if was reported to the common players.
