Been chatting with some different players who, for one reason or another, cannot compete in PVP play. For me, it's a physical disability that limits my proficiency in any game that requires quick precise aiming. While I enjoy Gambit, I'm the first person dead by almost any invader and the worst invader ever. In Crucible, I'm merely a bullet sponge unless I get lucky.
Please offer a PVE option to complete Exotic weapon quests. I, and others I've discussed this with, would happily grind out PVE content rather that play a single painful Crucible match. It doesn't have to be easy, just not PVP. Even asking us to only be able to complete the quest as a fireteam would be fine and would foster the community adhesion I think you're looking for via PVP.
Another option would be to only start and finish exotic quests in PVP, with no PVE content. This would save the PVE players much time as we wouldn't grind out the first few steps of an exotic quest only to find that we will never be able to complete it because we need to then complete an impossible PVP requirement. Ace of Spades and Thorn quests are two exotics that suffer from the issue I'm addressing.
Many thanks for your consideration

1 RespuestaBro, pve literally has raid exclusives, so basically the argument that your making is that they should make exotic quest steps in the crucible in pve, well then in the same sense one could argue make pve steps pvp steps
-
Make the PVE option have Master Nightfalls, deaths decrease progress, Lol! JK! That wouldn't work!!!! But for real though, Ace is not hard to get. Thorn is longish, but its hardest part is probably Chasm of Screams which is PVE.

3 RespuestasYes, please! All exotics should have a PvE & PvP paths to get them.
-
No! You must try PVP! You will love itY TRY IT! TRYYYY PVP! YOU WILL BE PLAYING PVP CUZ YOU WILL LOVE IT!
-
1 RespuestaUnfortunately these requirements have been present since d1. So they aren't going anywhere.

14 RespuestasWhy not ask for PvE exotics to get PvP steps as well? There are many PvP players who won't touch difficult fireteam-only PvE activities with a ten foot pole. Shouldn't it go both ways, then?

1 RespuestaI feel for you, since a physical limitation makes it hard to play certain modes. I agree that some quests should have dual modes. However, there are many where the point is that you need to do PvP. You mentioned the Ace of Spades quest. It actually is very easy, especially now that they rebalanced the quest for it. Thorn is completely understandable that it is difficult and grindy, but again, that's the point of the quest. Also, many quests now do have multiple options for completion. My problem with this is that guns like Thorn are meant to be very grindy. Also, extending this to PvE, I would never want to see something like Acrius be given PvP options for completion. It is a raid exotic. Thus it requires things from PvE/the raid. Beat recommendation is to have someone that you know IRL/live with/whatever to get on your account and help you out with some of that stuff. Realistically, Bungie won't change those past quests in this way

4 RespuestasHow about they also add a pvp option to pve exotics?

What I would really like if for exotic quests to be ACTUAL QUESTS. Like an actual adventure with an actual story mission...You know...a QUEST! BrodyQuest! Bungies idea of an adventurous Quest is to just do a boring and excessive grind in whatever game mode they choose, repeat that 5 times, and end it with a re-skinned strike or something. Very very rarely is there actual new content revolving an Exotic Quest.
Lumina for example was so important to the story and Bungie pretty much shat on it.
5 RespuestasThe last exotic quest to require crucible was lumina back in season of opulence. We’ve had seven or eight since then, so I think it’s safe to say this is a thing of the past. Your only hope is that many old quests will be redone when beyond light comes out. They may completely overhaul the quests or just remove the planet specific parts from missing planets, keeping the rest the same.

At this point I agree with several people here: separate paths for all quests, legendary AND exotic. Make a catch - you gotta pick at the beginning which path and that's the path you take til it's complete.
-
PVP centered exotics should have PVP sections and PVE exotics should have PVE centered steps. Destiny 2 is a lot more lenient than D1. Take the first curse quest and the D1 chaperone quest for example
-
Interchangeable PvE and PvP paths for all quests.

Editado por Sweet Lew 88: 8/7/2020 5:10:26 PMWhy buy a game that's has promoted PvP for 6 years? You know it's going to make you play it..... It's not even that much PvP. I can offer PvP tips if you're interested.

I agree totally, I've had many conversations in my discord that we really dive into this topic like the exotic weapons have some kind of PvP element in the questline and for some PvP is a total shutdown for them either because of physical limitations, or not wanting to delve into the PvP part of the game (as full as the PVP part of the game is of wall hacks, cheats I can see why some don't even do the PvP) there should be some PvE equivalent part of the quest that you could do "like PvP would give better progress while PvE would give some progress" so many people would be all over this. Come on @bungie make this a thing!

I 100% agree, you could even go one step further and just have pvp exclusives and pve exclusives. The pvp weapons can only be used and attained in pvp and vice versa, that way people who don’t play one or the other don’t feel the need to waste their time. I’m not saying all weapons need to be one or the other but maybe a select few exclusives for pvp and pve respectively and any other exotic make attainable via an alternate route for the pvp steps.

I think in reality weapons that require a pvp grind are largely designed for use in pvp like thorn, rose, and a few others. What is a bit annoying are things like trying to get GL kills to get wither hoard catalyst etc and the sheer grind and rot about stuff like mountaintop. Just ridiculous, but I think even there, instead of pvp, you had to do some insane pve grind it could work still as that weapon is useful elsewhere. It is just a policy to get you to play everywhere in the end

3 RespuestasI don’t think every quest needs a pve option. Much less have pvp options. Some quests have steps to do things you won’t like. Play the modes that have sbmm and that might help I wish you luck
