You see that the figures are made of the same stuff that is spreading across the ground towards the city. As they fall upon the defenseless citizens, they splatter across their target, covering them in the oily black liquid. The poor people then dissolve into a puddle, only to have a twisted version of themselves rise and join the horde
-
I grimace, and shoot a few pistol shots at the horde.
-
A few of them are hit in the legs, sending them sprawling. Three wolves made of the liquid turn and start rushing towards you
-
"Heh I can play that game." I shift into my wolf form, a silver timber wolf, and jump at the lead wolf's throat after I wriggle out of the dress.
-
You slam into it, and as you tear at its throat it splatters into liquid, dripping onto you and causing an immense amount of pain as the other wolves leap at you
-
I yelp, and try to slash the other two.
-
You manage to slash one into a puddle as the liquid from the one you killed begin spreading across snout. The other wolf manages to slash your side, leaving long, painful claw marks
-
my snout or the other wolf's snout?
I claw at the second one's head.
-
yours. It's a very good idea to try and get rid of it
you manage to hit the wolf, bashing its head against the ground as the liquid continues spreading across your face
-
I turn back to human nude, and try to get it off my face. If I succeed, I put my dress back on, and get my Deep stone dagger, deciding it would be a better choice next time.
-
Clawing it off fails, only serving to spread it to your hands as a voice begins speaking in your mind, accompanying the increasing pain. "Give in" it says in a deep, raspy voice. "Join us, and the pain will end."
-
What happens if I do?
-
you become one of those figures things, and your character loses her will and becomes a mindless thrall, just like the figures in the horde. I'd suggest not doing so if you like your character
-
I like my character, but then again I did let her get infected by the Deep once.
I try to rub the liquid off on the roof.
-
yeah, probably shouldn't let it stay on then
A little rubs off, but it keeps spreading, stalemating your progress
-
“Eek!” I try scraping it off with my dagger.
-
It starts working better, but it takes some of you with it
-
I try to rub it off on the roof, hoping it doesn't take anymore of me.
-
It starts coming off, and eventually just comes off as if it gave up
-
"Phew. I need a better weapon." I keep my dagger out, and scan for enemies.
-
You see the horde rushing past you, seemingly more agitated than normal. Far behind them, two warriors are dueling
-
"Must be Watson. He's probably the only guy to challenge an evil person to a duel." I look for Blaze.
-
A lot has happened since you last looked. You see Blaze and Watson clinging to an enormous dragon, holding on for dear life and trying to attack it as it spews flames everywhere
-
"That's not good." I look for any guns like a .50 caliber machine gun.
-
Unfortunately for you, none of the civilians or the horde of figures had any guns on their persons
