I’d be very interested in this fight. But for the love of god no one say logic plague, the vex are not robots they are microorganism within metal bodies.
But it would be interesting as the vex have no nervous system and radiolaria can infect and convert organic beings into vex (Kabr and Asher Mir) when touched much like the flood. Also I would assume the vex minds are much more intelligent than Forerunner AI like mendicant bias as they have many minds the size of planets and can simulate the flood in order to create strategies as well as predict what they will do.

Okay, I'm not perfectly clear on what causality is but from what I understand, it's basically something that defies the laws of physics or the universe, right? Something like that? So, are we sure the Flood is not paracausal then? Because they're basically a corrupted form of the Precursors; Halo's god race that created all life in the Milky Way and possibly created the universe itself. With that in mind, how can the Flood not be paracausal? I read that it means they can operate outside of the universe. The Precursors predate the universe by billions of years, which is why it's very likely they're the actual creators of the universe, like I said. That means, they were operating outside of the universe since it didn't even exist yet. Therefor, they're paracausal, aren't they? They also use neural physics and inhabit the 4th dimension. With all that in mind and knowing the Flood are the Precursors, I'm fairly sure they're paracausal and thus, cannot be predicted by the Vex. Even if they're not paracausal, the Hive is, right? Well, the Hive has a nervous system, which means the Flood can infect them and take their abilities and existence and assimilate it into their own. Let's say the Flood beat the Forerunners, becoming intergalactic and actually, somehow, find their way into the Destiny universe and start infecting -blam!-, including the Hive. With the knowledge of the combined knowledge and technology of the Hive and Forerunners and being Precursors in nature, there is no way the Vex is winning

The Vex. Keep in mind, the Vex not only have infinite resources (Timeline hopping) but they also gave the Hive (who had a home field advantage) a beating so hard that Oryx in his full might had to step in to stop them (even then he only dealt with those within his throne world). While the Flood in their prime even had things such as Neural Physics and Key minds, the Vex right now even after the Hive, Guardians, and Cabal have broke many of their Axis Minds and World Level projects (VoG, Infinite Forrest, Argos, GoS, and Undying Mind) the Vex are still hesitant to send Warrior Frames, and still have near perfect efficiency. Not to mention, normal vex weapons use Solar or Void elements, said Solar weapons are perfect anti-flood weapons, and as for the void weapons it's a matter of how the Flood react to such a thing. But that's just normal weapons, I would think the Vex have far more superior weapons ready for a more distant time.

The Vex will create a mind to simulate and understand the Flood and then contain and eradicate them with a winning outcome they find. The Undying Mind would curbstomp them. Only paracausal power or technology can beat the Vex. Throwing numbers at them isn't enough if you cant effectively strike at their main minds.

Vex. Flood. Guardians (the Destiny kind. Damn it, this could get confusing...). Spartans. Team Osiris (the Halo one...see...). Ghost. 343 Guilty Spark. Cortana. The Library. Only one team leaves alive.
-
Here's how I see it The vex are one of the most powerful races in the multiverse, their only weakness is paracausal entities The Vex would just simulate a reality where they beat the flood and then kick their shit in

8 RespuestasI’m not as well-versed in Flood lore as I’d like to be, but everyone’s saying the Flood can’t survive off of microorganisms which means they’d be screwed against the Vex. The Flood’s infectious abilities have been shown to be more intense and bizarre than those of the Vex, but the Vex have very similar infectious abilities. On top of that, the Vex have shown to be so infectious and resistant to infection that they can even counter being Taken. The Vex even compartmentalize their Minds so that no infection can spread through the Collective. All it takes is any contact with Vex radiolaria or mind elements and organics and machines can be infected. On top of the advantages of their microorganism+machine bodies, the Vex are also so capable with information and simulation that they can predict everything the Flood will do. If anything can discover a way to stop the Flood, it’s the Vex.
And Oryx could probably single-handedly defeat the Flood due to his sheer paracausal power and the ability to Take.
Editado por silencersix: 7/31/2020 3:44:24 AMThat would be interesting. We know that the Flood can’t survive off of microorganisms, and even if the Graveminds could find a way to survive off of them, Radiolaria isn’t even edible and would probably convert whatever eats it. After the Flood wipes out all our organic races, they’d be left with only the Vex. And they may end up starving, right? The Flood aren’t Paracausal, either, so the Vex could accurately simulate and understand them.

2 RespuestasI love how often the Vex vs Flood debate comes up. Honestly I’d love to see how a war of that scale would go down, especially considering how identical their abilities are It’s a hard call, but I expect that the Vex would win. Yes, the Flood spread very rapidly and can likely take over the Vex radiolaria that composes their collective consciousness because it is organic, but the Vex have demonstrated much more impressive feats relating to infection. They’re not limited to organic matter, for starters, and have also been proven to be able to win out against Taking, which is a big step up from Flood infection when it comes to resisting or countering the effects so shows that the Vex would likely be able to find a way to overcome Flood infection as well (plus the Taken are supposedly not even composed of solid matter anymore, which again says a lot about the Vex’s abilities). The Vex infectious cells also convert the consciousness and even AI minds, which again is a step up from the Flood’s Logic Plague and means the Vex might be able to disrupt Hive Minds so that the Flood can’t come up with intelligent strategies to fight back. And on top of all that the Vex are masters of planning and construction and can build things to slow and contain the Flood without even having to risk themselves much. Starving the Flood out probably wouldn’t be too hard for the Vex as a long term plan So in the end I believe it comes down to their infectious power since their military might is seemingly equal (excluding the Vex’s far superior means of transportation and slightly superior information network), and the Vex simply seem to have the edge there

There is a minimum amount of biomass the Flood require to infect an organism. The Vex fall far below that.
