Splitting the playerbase may not be a viable option though or may cause more server issues. That’s all speculation but they could be issues

Definitely why i keep going off about Priority settings vs separate playlists.
-
Either way it would split the playerbase and still require two different effective playlists those searching for sbmm and those searching for cbmm

I’m a blueberry and I don’t find much wrong with the current system. I find that my game KDA not to be confused with KD stays more or less constant. Well going by the in game stats and not destinytracker. Yes I’m lower 40% but that ls exactly where I land in my teams score. Exactly where I should be. And yes once in awhile I’m the top 2 players so I have my really fun moments. The way I rank my play quality is if I did better then the guy in my slot on the opposing team. If I beat his score I did my job. Same goes for the best player. If the opposing teams top player did better he failed as well. Just my opinion though. I enjoy crucible no matter what. My only complaint is being a blueberry I have to use meta most of the time just to survive.
-
Thanks for the input. That’s a good way to look at it seeing if you beat the guy on the enemy team in the same spot as you. I’m glad you are able to have some good games too where you are top 2. Yeah using meta everygame may get boring just to survive
-
Not if you have one playlist, cause then everyone is in one spot.
-
It can be visually one playlist but it still separates the player base because the sbmm control and cbmm control players can’t match each other it would still isolate and require a separate matchmaking to determin who can match with who
-
I said one spot, not some silly facade.
-
You can’t have 2 different matchmaking preferences without splitting the players
-
Yes you can. It has been done before.
-
So will cbmm players be able to match sbmm players? Because if they can’t that would be dividing the player base.

First off, drop CB and SB, cause by this point, it would be not one or the either, it's just Matchmaking. The point of "prioritization" is to focus what MM searches for when deciding who to put you with or someone with you and those already with you. As ANY MM would, when the parameters need to be opened more in order to find anyone, they will open. This isn't new. This is a thing now and forever. If you're going to use the mere possibility that someone who is after a good connection matching with someone after a small skill gap as some golden goose invalidation of the concept entirely, don't. It's beyond absurd. Someone can easily meet the skill preference of another, while simultaneously have a good connection within the lobby, both needs met, done. I don't know all the nitty-gritty details as I'm obviously not a developer of this stuff. I'm merely trying to lay out the foundation of the concept from its past interactions in Halo. So I'm not going to sit around if you're going to try to poke tiny holes into things I simply cannot explain with 100% certainty. That doesn't not make you right, nor me wrong. The goal of the system is to be harmonious, I can only try to explain that the best I can.

I mean pushing people away from the crucible doesn't help with that either but ok.

This is a basic answer that people can't understand for some reason
-
This is a basic answer that people can't understand for some reason
Or because we know FOR A FACT the players that are crying for SBMM didn’t play even when it was SBMM. The numbers don’t lie. They were 100k lower the same time last year when SBMM was a thing. It’s just weak copout of imaginary dissatisfaction.
-
There was no SBMM in QP a year ago, so what’s your point?
-
There was no SBMM in QP a year ago, so what’s your point?
LoL that was the ONLY place it “didn’t” exist making it the sweatiest place of them all. It was in fact in every other playlist
-
Yeah, and that’s probably what most people play. The other playlists are still mostly SBMM. It’s not like the player population is anything to write home about right now. It’s getting low, but the PVE side isn’t exactly stellar, either.

Trials does on the back end kinda but no other lobbies have SBMM according to Bungie. Not even IB.

Yeah, but we had limited playlist choices a year ago. I’m not sure that separating out into all these different playlists was a very good idea.
