The best chance you have is to use a Season of Dawn piece because the mods fit on -1 and +1 season from release, they're capped at 1210 (I think). You they'll see you through to Season 13, but after that you'll have to gimp yourself to use the mods in end-game content.

The hive mods work on the raid armor that takes them. So Y’know, all the Levi stuff. Which caps at 1360.

I thought those armours were capped at 1060 like the other Raid stuff that's getting sunset, unless they've updated those too like they have with Scourge? I've only done Scourge since the weekly refresh and the Scourge armour dropped at 1360, whereas previously was 1060 at the start of this season. I've not done Crown for a few weeks so don't know if they've been changed too. If Crown of Sorrow gear has been upgraded to 1360 this week, then I'd say do that.

All of the soon to be retired raids had their armor level caps upped to 1360.

That's good then. I thought it was odd that you said the Leviathan gear because my Crown drops were capped at 1060 only two weeks ago. I've not really been playing. Only did the new Exotic and Scourge since reset, so not been paying attention. Wish they'd just upgrade the Raid stuff I already own instead of making me refarm it, but whatever. Bungie be Bungie. So yes, to correct my original comment. Don't use Dawn gear, get some Crown Of Sorrow Raid gear and you'll be sorted until September 2021.
