Please, bungie??
EDIT: So this blew up :)
So there a few detractors to this idea, that is fine. But let's look at the big picture. We ALL want a game that has general appeal and adds players, yet many are walking away over this. One of the final straws was reissuing the same guns. They want US to walk away from guns, but Bungie doesn't have too? That makes no sense. So logically, let us also infuse the new light max.
It will still reduce a great number of old guns - we only want to save a few god rolls.
If "old" perks are too OP? Nerf them again! Some of the new perks seem more OP than anything the old perks did so that is another fail argument for sunsetting. This community is awesome, lets keep it going.

I thought about this too and yeah it makes total sense, I see no reason why not. It respects players time for the hard work they put into grinding those weapons in the last to give them time and motivation to grind for new weapons and stuff

3 RespuestasI'll never understand why my curated Gnawing Hunger with subsistence and rampage is getting sunsetted after getting a new reprised Gnawing Hunger with subsistence and rampage
-
Sunsetting in theory is a good idea, having us obtain new fresh weapons to grind for but unfortunately, Bungie is lazy as shit. Now we are LITERALLY grinding the exact same guns that we already had god rolls for and expected to just GrInD FoR A NeW OnE. Even old raid content is dropping at the new level cap I believe. So that absolutely juicer Supremacy roll that I got is now useless.
-
Yes please.

2 RespuestasGet rid of Sunsetting

Yeah reissuing the exact same weapon with no new perks and not updating the power cap of the old versions is the only real grievance I have with sunsetting.
-
I played 7 seasons of Iron Banner, gradually improving my weapons rolls as I got better and better ones. Now they're all garbage because of the wrong season symbol. And it's not because of "balance." They just added new CHORES to the game for the sake of busywork.

Editado por Knox Knox: 7/9/2020 5:22:34 PMFor the longest time, I wondered what Destiny was all about. With the advent of this so called "Sunsetting" bullsh*t, I've seen people comparing Destiny to a game called World of Warcraft, an MMORPG game. Some also compare Destiny to a Magic Card game. Lol. When I hear this it makes me cringe. Destiny is not World or Warcraft. I'm not playing WoW. I'm playing Destiny. Why would you say Sunsetting happens in these games? I'm not playing these games. I'm playing Destiny. Lol. I'm not playing WoW or a Magic Card game! Why would you even justify they are the same and that these games have sunsetting? Destiny is not WoW or a Magic Card game. Now, here's the puncher. A year ago, they announced what Destiny is really all about. After five years of struggling what Destiny is to become, they finally said Destiny is an "Action MMO." Okay, what does that mean for the game? . . . One year have passed and I didn't really feel what that means or what I feel about the game. I still felt I was still playing the same Destiny game. They put a new description as an Action MMO game, but the game really feels the same. Now, fast forward to today and next season. They're implementing this so called "Sunsetting" and compared Destiny to a Magic Card game with sunsetting features. This comparison came from them, the makers of the game. Lol. So, after all these years, 6 years, I finally realized what Destiny is. Do you wanna know what Destiny really is?. . . It took them 6 years to finally say, "Okay, we are sticking to our story!". . . . . . Destiny is a Pokemon Game! It's both a video game and a card game!!! WORD!

2 Respuestasthe fact that they are killing my guns to release the exact same gun with the same perks just annoys me to no end. in some cases i spent a lot of time and resources getting a gun and masterworking it. So they are killing the gun I have and like simply to force me to get another one. And that's not something i'm interested in. Like i have a bite of the fox i like with snapshot opening shot. If you reissue it i'm just gonna want the exact same gun i already have. It feels entirely like forced grind for the sake of forced grinding.

6 RespuestasEditado por CookieNiki: 7/8/2020 8:48:27 PM
If the Gun is reissued, let the new gun infuse the old gun with the new max as well?
They won't let that happen, they want the damage/reload perks to go away from the game thus forcing us to leave our god rolls of those weapons behind. If we could infuse them with the new max we could keep them way more time and that can't be. We must play this game based on Luke Smith's interpretation of "we want to let players play the game the way they want". Same old Bungie, one step forward and one step backwards, never evolves.

1 RespuestaAgreed, there does not seem to be any good rationale for sunsetting a weapon you reissued without any change. While I do feel sunsetting in general disrespects player investment to some degree, I understand why it has to happen with weapons not being brought back. That feels quite different regarding weapons reissued with no change. It is almost infuriating to lose a weapon you spent a great deal of time to farm, for no reason whatsoever.

1 RespuestaSounds good to me, you shouldn’t have to grind again for the exact same gun you had before.
-
5 RespuestasI don't understand why people don't get the play here. Bungie is sunsetting to get rid of perks they deem to be op. The reissued guns are not the same guns because of different perks. If you have a gnawing hunger with the same roll as a reissued gnawing hunger it's because the perks it has were deemed "not op" by Bungie fun haters. That's why they will never go for all these suggestions you people keep throwing out. The regrinding of the weapons also serves to keep you grinding. However, Bungie will never cop to that. Sunsetting is a huge mistake, but fatty boom boom will never let it go just like he never let go of his "dual primaries is awesome " philosophy. If you haven't noticed, secondary weapons are super weak and primaries are not this season(except for exotics). Expect to start to gradually lose interest next year in secondary weapons as you find how limited they will become. FBB can't balance encounters for both a dual primary loadout AND a primary/secondary loadout so expect him to screw up our secondaries constantly since he can't admit failure.

1 Respuestabungie has the dumbesy humans on the planet running their game, this makes way too much sense for them to comprehend

7 RespuestasCammy had the right take on sunsetting- it’s about the dev’s convenience. If you like collecting or min maxing or experimenting with several builds there’s no point. Just adopt a vanilla “does everything ok but nothing great” build and enjoy the experience of playing the game. Then switch to another down-the-middle build each season. So excited. Can’t wait.

15 RespuestasSad to see that my master worked BadOmens is capped at 1060, while trying to buy the exact same piece from the drifter shows at capped at 1360. Not at all fair Bungie. This is really a Bad Omen.

I think by now they understand that doing this they will lose some players. But they also know that they can't keep going the way they had been either. I prefer them make a game they want and can make, rather continue to try and please everyone
-
Bump I wish this game could be better but the devs are limiting it with stupid things
-
Yes, finally this kind of post. thank you. But if we have the weapon it should be pullable from collections with the new cap, not just discoverable.
-
But but we got emblems free w moments of triumph 🤣
-
The logic you people use is that of a koala. "yet many are walking away" you reading forum posts where people are probably lying doesn't equal "many" it equals non existent. "they want US to walk away..but bungi doesn't have to?" guy its there game, theyre not making you do anything, ever, theyre just changing THEIR game. "we only want to save a few god rolls" they dont care. "this community is awesome" nope.

1 RespuestaCAN WE GET TAKEN ARMOR AGAIN, AND BE ABLE TO CHANGE THE COLOR OF THE TAKEN EFFECT DEPENDING ON THAT SHADER

3 RespuestasThey "fixed" the season "mark" on GoS Last Wish and SotP drops. (Why not SotP WEAPONS though?) All of the weapons that have "new" releases should have gotten the same treatment.
If the Gun is reissued, let the new gun infuse the old gun with the new max as well?
Well, what fun would that be taking away that grind? That is what this company is thinking and it's what you guys should know. You're not getting out of having to regrind your "god rolls" no matter how hard any of you try 😂 You're screwed so face it because there will never be an easy way out 🤣🤣🤣😂

True. I’m going to miss my OG Gnawing Hunger Auto Rifle with OverFlow and Rampage. It would go from 48 to 96 rounds on rampage, oh the joy of 10k kills. Can I at least make a weapon shrine of those weapons I’ll still covet?
