Diversity hiring is not and has not done us any favors and worse off - it perpetuates the trope of minorities doing better only because white savior put them to work.

Speak for yourself. Many have been assisted by diversity hirings when they probably wouldnt even have had that job. And no, it doesnt imply minorities need a white savior - it simply implies that businesses have been overlooking minorities.

I didn't give an opinion; diversity/token hiring that downplays merit for skin leads to stifled skill growth, weakening of the brand/product/service, and ethnic entitlement within the culture being 'assisted'. Or do you think it's coincidence that the last decade saw gender and race quotas ramp up in gaming/comics and all of a sudden both are at the worst state it's ever been across the board? Not *because* of more women and minorities in these industries, but because dismissing skill and merit leads to very obvious outcomes.
