Having a family and full time job I only have limited time to play Destiny 2 each day and so now I am questioning if Destiny 2 is the game for me due to last couple months with the game.
For a little background I started playing Destiny 2 last season (Season of the Worthy).
I usually play for short periods of time (I.e. Crucible match or two) and check on the family or do household obligations and then rinse and repeat for a couple hours each night so my time available makes it harder to group up, as a result I usually play solo.
I also don’t have time to grind multiple characters.
I am writing this because as a newer player if people like me leave then the player base will diminish which only hurts the game, so I wanted Bungie to be aware.
Concerns with the game:
- Grinding to the hard cap takes me all season (if I even get there), then I need to start the entire process again next season. This in particular makes me feel like a mouse on a wheel and is very unsatisfying.
- Because of the above I can’t focus solely on content I want/like as the grind forces me to play content I don’t particularly like with the limited time I have available.
- When I bought the game (yes, I got the expansions ) I thought I had a game with lots of content and all the time in the world to complete it, then Bungie created the end of life change to gear (sun setting) which made stuff I wanted to do and grind for not really worth it.
- Bugs - If I didn’t get beaver errors that caused the game to take longer to load and play (further reducing my play time) it was that Bungie never fixed the issue all last season, which unfortunately makes me a little leery on further supporting this company.
- Mats - I can’t get items like ascendant shards to even max what gear I have because again this is a grind or because they are locked behind group activities for the elite, which I definitely am not.
Solutions:
- Have the light/power hard cap easier for everyone to get (ie. more pinnacle options for all players)
- Have Pinnacle options be flexible so you are not forced into content you don’t like (ie- if there are 15 pinnacle options each week allow them all to be obtained via any content (ie - all from crucible play, or grinding missions, etc)
- Make mats like ascendant shards be more easily obtained so we can max gear and weapons we have (ie - they drop randomly from all content)
- Fix bugs faster. Do hot patches as there is no excuse for some of the delays in fixing things
- sun setting ....you removed half the meaning full content and now there is far less to do of long term value for a player not wanting to grind over and over
I hope some of this makes sense to you Bungie as you have a good game, it’s just way too grindy for a casual player.
Thanks!

1 RespuestaIt sounds like your wanting all the rewards without putting the time in. If that’s the case than this game is not for you.

Same here. I love Comp and Trials but It’ll take me more than a month to get 1050. I don’t like AFK Farm but I’m doing it. Destiny should address offline boosts. A lot of games, MMOs and grind games have this mechanic. So players that cannot play all the time can catch up faster.

If you are only playing limited time, then many of your problems, are not really problems. Crucible has no light level, other than IB and Trials. You can run strikes, most seasonal events., and stories. As soon as a new season starts , items pretty much start dropping at the new seasons bottom threshold. You don't seem to be doing endgame content, so you will be able to still use pretty much every weapon you have, and you will pick up newer ones along the way.

No to hell with the casuals. They just want everything handed to them what the -blam!-? The games already pretty -blam!-ing casual

1 RespuestaCasuals get less than the hardcore. This is how it works... in every game. Do you hate that? Go try another game. Nothing will change.

1 RespuestaEditado por Sweet Lew 88: 6/14/2020 5:12:50 PMThey have to make this game for the majority of players. I don't think a casual father is their main demographic. More like people 14-25. Probably no family. I'd probably not worry about it and just play what you like without leveling up, only iron banner and trials need light levels. If they make it easy for you get to max, then it's way to easy for most
