In both the reveal stream, and the article about the upcoming features Luke Smith said that Bungie doesn't want to make a D3 because they don't want players to give up all their gear and start from scratch. If this is true, then what in god's name makes you think sunsetting is a good idea. This forces players give up all their gear and start from scratch because the level cap will render all our current weapons and armor essentially useless. I can't fathom how anyone could think this would make the game better. The only way I would be even a little alright with this is if, when the weapons are reintroduced, we can bring our old gear back up to current level. This, however, is not the case. I found a Main Ingredient from this season and compared the max level with the same weapon from the Forsaken era and they did not match. The Forsaken weapon had power cap of 1060 and the Arrivals iteration had a cap of 1360. This is just an insult to the time and effort we've put into grinding for our gear and master-working it. Your reason for not making another game fully contradicts effect of sunsetting, and Bungie needs to explain itself.
