Like there are plenty of items ive seen in this videos weve never even got a wif of during this 7 year career. And the concepts and how everything works is just.... Half baked in comparison... I'm not new to these videos btw.. Ive been around for it all. Since concept art being leaked by anon. The original story line. Which I wont spoil for the new lights here. Most guardians who r still here are the hopeful that we will finally see this story realized. But we r still blue in the face.
-
And I have yet to see anyone who was actually in the room that day for the supercut have anything other than very lukewarm praise for that "original vision"
-
Because majority of those who cared arent here anymore. Or have morphed into trolls in the forums because it's literally a meme now. Plus many people dont even know about what destiny was gonna be before it was made into a yearly title installment rather than the one game 10 year expansion plan.
-
it was never going to be a single 10 year game. it was a 10 year franchise. different things.
-
Editado por iKARUS: 6/2/2020 7:33:35 PMIt was gonna be a 10 year game. The first time line for its dlc roadmap specifically said destiny. Not destiny2 anywhere. Just dark below. Yadda yadda yadda yadda comet dlc comet dlc. Yadda yadda.
-
your timeline means nothing when they stated it was going to be a 10 year franchise.

Like just the small detail of your ships bringing u into the event/instance with full animation in your friends HUD was just awe inspiring but that was scrapped? Why And then closing the true open world vision into a linear circuit ? Youd rather have the later?
Like just the small detail of your ships bringing u into the event/instance with full animation in your friends HUD was just awe inspiring but that was scrapped? Why
Go read the GDC conference on the networking system of Destiny. That persentation is the answer. You're talking about things that are doable with games with dedicated servers. This game doesn't have that. So it has to carve out a significant portion of processing power to simply create and maintain lobbies (its why instances are limited to only 9 people). With two console generations that were already UNDERPOWERED. As I said, that vision fo the game is not possible technologically untill you have dedicated servers to house the game world....and to off load processing work laod. DREAMS have no limits. But the second you decided to bring a dream or an idea into Reality you have to work around or within those limits. You can't just ignore them or wish them away.
-
Ive actually been playing around with that. Its really fun. Like stupid fun x.x
-
...and here comes the emotional, circular argument. For the record, that game was not technologically possible at the time. Bungie's ambition was beyond what even the current consoles can manage. Never mind what XB360 and PS3 were capable of.

So long little acolyte. Enjoy your settling of half measures throughout your life. May your entrepreneurial steps be as lukewarm as your expectations. May your business plans be met with pay walls and castrated fruits. And that the pessimism u deem realist perception see the dull horizon u view every morning. Thats a little bit more emotional for ya~
-
Smh. You really need to do your homework on how this game was built....and therefore you can understand the technological limitations that it was operating under. Saying that what you're talking about was a technological impossibility on the consoles at the time is not an exaggeration. Its a simple statement of fact. IN fact that kind of game is STILL technologically impossible on the current generation of consoles. It won't be possible until Bungie retools the compnay and creats a version of this game that can operate with dedicated servers. Otherwise there is no way you can have a single version of this game that grows on forever like World of Warcraft.
-
I get it I get it. But as said the smaller details. Make it a living world. Immersive. Not a bounty grind.
-
Emotional how? Im just saying there was a great deal of the package that wasnt delivered. We had so much content shown here just in the smaller details that weren't brought to fruition. And sure there are restrictions. But the question is HOW MUCH WAS RESTRICTED.
-
Im just saying there was a great deal of the package that wasnt delivered.
Bexause it either didn't work (The Super Cut) or it wasn't doable with the tools and resources that Bungie had that their disposal. Also Bungie had NO experience with the kind of project that they wanted to under take. One of Bungie's redeeming traits is their willingness to take big risks....but that also means that your reach sometimes exceeds your grasp THIS is why you never take anything said about a project or game while its in early development as a "promise" for the final product.
